Modification of post-viewing parameters for digital images using image region or feature information
A method of generating one or more new digital images using an original digitally-acquired image including a selected image feature includes identifying within a digital image acquisition device one or more groups of pixels that correspond to the selected image feature based on information from one or more preview images. A portion of the original image is selected that includes the one or more groups of pixels. The technique includes automatically generating values of pixels of one or more new images based on the selected portion in a manner which includes the selected image feature within the one or more new images.

Provided are a light-emitting apparatus that can suppress manufacturing cost to a low level and perform light emission with high uniformity using a simple configuration, a calibration coefficient calculation method using the light-emitting apparatus, and a method for calibrating a captured image of an inspection target object. A plurality of light-emitting diodes arranged at equal intervals on the circumference of a virtual circle, and a milky white-colored emission window, which is provided on a top surface portion separated from the light-emitting diodes, has an outer edge that is smaller than the circumference on which the light-emitting diodes are arranged, and allows light of the light-emitting diodes to pass therethrough, are included. The diameter of the virtual circle on which the light-emitting diodes are arranged and a separation distance between the light-emitting diodes and the emission window are set to predetermined distances.
PHOTOGRAPH PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present invention provide a photograph processing method and system. The method includes: performing face detection on a photograph to obtain a detected human face; performing alignment on the detected human face, so as to obtain contour points of a left eye and a right eye of the detected human face; separately calculating a left eye area, being an area of the left eye, and a right eye area, being an area of the right eye, according to the contour points of the left eye and the right eye; performing stretching transformation on each pixel in the left eye area and the right eye area to generate a stretched left eye area and a stretched right eye area; and performing histogram equalization processing on the stretched left eye area and the stretched right eye area, so as to generate a processed photograph.
SPATIALLY ADAPTIVE TONE MAPPING OPERATOR
A method for spatially-adaptive tone mapping in an image having high dynamic range includes using a computing device to receive an input image from an image sensor comprising a plurality of pixels having pixel locations and determine within the input image a plurality of local size scales, each comprising a neighborhood having substantially constant illumination. The variation in reflectance within each neighborhood is estimated and local contrast within each neighborhood is enhanced. Using the illumination and variation within the contrast-enhanced neighborhoods, the image is remapped to a reduced dynamic range to generate an output image.
SHADOW DETECTION AND REMOVAL IN LICENSE PLATE IMAGES
A method, system, and apparatus for license plate relighting comprises collecting an image of a license plate, performing license plate recognition on the image of the license plate; calculating a confidence metric for the license plate recognition; and performing a shadow detection and relighting method if the confidence metric is below a predetermined threshold, comprising identifying a shaded region of said license plate, determining if the shaded region is actually shaded, and relighting the actually shaded region.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR CAPTURING AN IMAGE WITH CORRECT SKIN TONE EXPOSURE
A system and method are provided for capturing an image with correct skin tone exposure. In use, one or more faces having threshold skin tone are detected within a scene. Based on the detected one or more faces, a high dynamic range (HDR) capture mode is enabled. Further, the scene image is captured using the HDR capture mode.
Overlapped curve mapping for histogram-based local tone and local contrast
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed herein for performing tone mapping and/or contrast enhancement. In some examples, a block mapping curve is low-pass filtered with block mapping curves of surrounding blocks to form a smoothed block mapping curve. In some examples, overlapped curve mapping of block mapping curves, including smoothed block mapping curves, is performed, including weighting, based on a pixel location, block mapping curves of a group of blocks to generate an interpolated block mapping curve and applying the interpolated block mapping curve to a pixel to perform ton mapping and/or contrast enhancement.
Subject-aware low light photography
Devices, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed, describing an adaptive, subject-aware approach for image bracket selection and fusion, e.g., to generate high quality images in a wide variety of capturing conditions, including low light conditions. An incoming image stream may be obtained from an image capture device, comprising images captured using differing default exposure values, e.g., according to a predetermined pattern. When a capture request is received, it may be detected whether one or more human or animal subjects are present in the incoming image stream. If a subject is detected, an exposure time of one or more images selected from the incoming image stream may be reduced relative to its default exposure time. Prior to the fusion operation, one of the selected images may be designated a reference image for the fusion operation based, at least in part, on a sharpness score and/or a blink score of the image.
METHOD AND DEVICE OF INVERSE TONE MAPPING AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Embodiments of the present application provide a method and a device of inverse tone mapping and an electronic device. The method includes: obtaining one or more low dynamic range images; performing a decomposition operation to the low dynamic range image to acquire a detail layer and a basic layer of the low dynamic range image; restoring the detail layer and the basic layer by using a predetermined first restoration network and a second restoration network to acquire restored detail layer and basic layer; and adjusting the restored detail layer and basic layer by using a predetermined fusion network to acquire an adjusted high dynamic range image. With the technical solution of the present application, the conversion from a low dynamic range image to a high dynamic range image can be more robustly completed without complicated parameter settings.
ILLUMINATION COMPENSATION IN IMAGING
In an embodiment, a method (100) is described. The method comprises obtaining (102) a three-dimensional representation of a body surface. The method further comprises obtaining illumination information for the three-dimensional representation that is indicative of an orientation of the body surface relative to a reference axis. The method further comprises determining illumination compensation information (104). The illumination compensation information is used (106) to compensate for an illumination variation apparent from the illumination information in an image of the body surface.
