A light guide unit includes a first phase shifter disposed on the optical path to convert the display light as the linear polarized light from the projection unit into a circularly polarized light and including a reflection surface directed to the projection member and capable of reflecting a light from the projection member side to the projection member, a second phase shifter disposed on the projection member side of the first phase shifter on the optical path and giving a ¼ wavelength phase difference to the display light converted into the circularly polarized light by the first phase shifter to convert the display light into a linear polarized light, and a linear polarizer on the projection member side of the second phase shifter on the optical path. The linear polarizer guides the display light converted into the linear polarized light by the second phase shifter toward the projection member.

Vehicle arrangement, vehicle and method for providing a display

A vehicle arrangement includes a display device for displaying at least one item of information on a display surface for at least one person being transported by the vehicle, a detection device for detecting disturbance of the view of the person of the display surface, and a further component which is compensating the detected disturbance of the view of the person of the display surface at least partially by at least one of movement relative to the display surface and alteration of its external shape. A vehicle includes at least one such vehicle arrangement, and a method provides a display in or on a vehicle.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device includes: a first detection unit that detects a traveling state of a host vehicle; a merging detection unit that detects that the host vehicle approaches within a predetermined area of a merging point when the host vehicle travels on the merging road toward the merging point at which a main road joins with the merging road; a second detection unit that detects a speed of a lane flow by another vehicle that travels on the main road toward the merging point; a position detection unit that obtains a position of a pre-merging point as a virtual point on the main road reaching the merging point when the host vehicle reaches the merging point; and a display control unit that controls a display device to display the position of the host vehicle and the pre-merging point.

Optical element, display system, and mobile object

A display system includes an optical element through which light diverges and an imaging optical system configured to form an image by projecting diverging light diverging through the optical element. In the display system, the image formed by the imaging optical system is visually recognized by a viewer, and a condition in an equation tan 0≥(T×B)/(S×O) is satisfied, where θ denotes a divergence angle of the optical element, T denotes distance between the image forming optical system and the formed image, B denotes a range of an eye box that is an area through which the formed image can visually be recognized, S denotes distance between the formed image and a viewpoint of the viewer of the formed image, and O denotes distance between the optical element and the image forming optical system. In the above equation, each distance indicates length of an optical path that passes through a center of an image formed by the light when an object is observed from a reference eyepoint.

Working vehicle and support system for the same

A working vehicle includes a vehicle body to be coupled to a working device, a communication controller to obtain first operation information relating to operation of the working device, the communication controller being electrically connected to the working device to communicate bi-directionally with the working device, an applicability judging device to judge applicability of the working device to the operation based on the first operation information obtained by the communication controller, and a display device to display the applicability judged by the applicability judging part.

Methods and apparatus to provide accident avoidance information to passengers of autonomous vehicles
11472440 · 2022-10-18 · ·

Methods and apparatus to provide accident avoidance information to passengers of autonomous vehicles are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a safety analyzer to determine an autonomously controlled vehicle is in a safe situation at a first point in time and in a dangerous situation at a second point in time. The example apparatus also includes a user interface generator to: generate user interface data to define content for a user interface to be displayed via a screen, the user interface to include a graphical representation of the vehicle, the user interface to graphically indicate the vehicle is in the safe situation at the first point in time; and modify the user interface data so that the user interface graphically indicates the vehicle is in the dangerous situation at the second point in time.

Trailer sideswipe avoidance system

A trailer sideswipe avoidance system for a vehicle towing a trailer is disclosed. The trailer sideswipe avoidance system includes a sensor system configured to detect objects in an operating environment of the vehicle. The trailer sideswipe avoidance system may include a controller that processes information received from the sensor system to determine whether the object detected in the operating environment of the vehicle is in the travel path of the towed trailer. A visual display displays a trailer collision alert zone and a trailer collision avoidance zone. The position of the trailer collision avoidance zone on the visual display relative to the position of the trailer collision alert zone on the visual display directionally corresponds with a collision avoidance steering angle of the vehicle relative to a current steering angle of the vehicle when the controller determines that the object is in the travel path of the towed trailer.

Methods and apparatus to perform a tank turn

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to perform a tank turn. An example vehicle includes a first wheel and a second wheel, the first wheel located on an end of a first axle, the second wheel located on an end of a second axle, the end of the first axle opposite to the end of the second axle, a first suspension coupled to the first wheel, a second suspension coupled to the second wheel, and a controller to drive the first axle in a first direction, drive the second axle in a second direction, the first direction different from the second direction, and decrease a first suspension load of the first suspension and a second suspension load of the second suspension.
