Set of golf club heads and method of manufacture
A co-forged iron type golf club is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention discloses an iron type golf club head from a pre-form billet that already contains two or more materials before the actual forging process resulting in a multi-material golf club head that doesn't require any post manufacturing operations such as machining, welding, swaging, gluing, and the like. The resultant golf club head may be capable of achieving center of gravity locations previously unachievable without utilizing this co-forging technique. The resultant golf club head may be used to create a set of golf club heads with center of gravity locations that are more advantageous throughout a set of golf clubs.
GOLF CLUB SET PROVIDING IMPROVED DISTANCE GAPPING ADJUSTABILITY
A set of golf clubs having a degree of loft and lie adjustability to provide improved distance gapping.
Balanced Set of Golf Clubs
A set of golf clubs with a plurality of at least two combinations of different lengths of a minimum of three golf clubs in each combination having progressive lofts that are matched to provide identical swing characteristics requiring unique loft and club length progressions to provide consistent yardage spacing between irons within a combination and between combinations. Each club in a combination is further defined by the shaft having an equal length; an identical swing weight, an identical grip weight and an identical head weight.
Club heads for adjusting vertical spin of a golf ball and methods of providing the same
Some embodiments include a club head for adjusting vertical spin of a golf ball. Other embodiments of related systems and methods are also disclosed.
Golf club heads with variable face geometry and material properties
Embodiments of golf club heads with variable face geometry and material properties are described herein. Various embodiments include a golf club head comprising a body configured to receive a faceplate from a set of faceplates. The body comprises a heel region, a toe region opposite the heel region, a sole, and a crown. The faceplate is from the set of faceplates and coupled to the body. The set of faceplates comprises a heel region, a toe region, a top portion, and a bottom portion, and further comprises at least one of a varying hardness profile or a varying thickness profile. Other examples and related methods are also disclosed herein.
GOLF CLUB HEAD
An iron-type golf club head includes a heel, a toe, a top portion, a sole portion, a top portion, a rear portion, and a striking wall. The striking wall includes a striking face having a plurality of scorelines and a face center and a rear surface. A minimum striking wall thickness T min is no greater than 2.5 min. A thickened central region of the striking wall has a maximum thickness, T max, greater than T min but no greater than 2.75. A first thickness T1 of the striking wall corresponds with a first location spaced toe-ward from the face center by a first distance D1 of between 20 mm and 30 mm. A second thickness T2 of the striking wall corresponds with a second location spaced heel-ward from the face center by the first distance D1 such that T1 is greater than T2 by no less than 0.05 mm.
GOLF CLUB
A shim or badge is affixed to a golf cub body to produce a cap-back iron, giving the appearance of a hollow-body iron. In this way, the golf club can be manufactured with the performance benefits of a game improvement iron, while providing the appearance of a blade, player's iron, and/or a hollow-body iron. For example, by using a lightweight and rigid shim or badge to close a cavity opening and extend into the toe portion in the golf club body, the golf club head can provide increased stiffness in the topline, while lowering CG. Various shim or badge arrangements and materials can be used, and a filler material and/or damper can be included within the cavity to improve sound and feel, while minimizing loss in COR.
IRON TYPE GOLF CLUB HEAD
Iron-type golf club heads are disclosed having a heel portion, a sole portion, a toe portion, a top-line portion, a front portion, a rear portion, and a striking face. The iron-type golf club heads include a flexible boundary structure (“FBS”) that is provided at one or more locations on the club head. The flexible boundary structure may comprise, in several embodiments, a slot, a channel, a gap, a thinned or weakened region, or other structure that enhances the capability of an adjacent or related portion of the golf club head to flex or deflect and to thereby provide a desired improvement in the performance of the golf club head.
GOLF CLUB HEADS WITH SOLE CAVITY PORTS AND RELATED METHODS
Embodiments of golf club heads with sole cavity ports are described herein. The sole cavity ports can have varying thicknesses across the cavity port lengths. In some embodiments, one or more golf club heads can have two cavities—a toe sole cavity and a heel sole cavity. Other examples and related methods are also disclosed herein.
SUPPORTED IRON SET
The present invention is directed to a set of golf clubs comprising long irons, mid irons and short irons. Preferably, the long and mid irons have a face stabilizing bar and back panel that have a plurality of apertures in the face stabilizing bar and/or the back wall.
