The set of component controls includes interactive controls for identifying or accessing the autonomous vehicle. A first user input is received at the user interface for one or more of the set of component controls, and control instructions for the autonomous vehicle based on the first user input are transmitted.

Using a planning circuit of a vehicle, a map is accessed that includes information identifying at least one lane on which vehicles can travel. At least one trajectory includes a lane change. Each trajectory is a path for the vehicle to move from a first spatiotemporal location to a second spatiotemporal location. The trajectory includes at least one lane alone which the vehicle can move. Using the planning circuit, a trajectory of the multiple trajectories for the vehicle to travel is selected based on an initial vehicle trajectory of the vehicle. The selected trajectory includes a stem. The stem is a portion of the selected trajectory to which the vehicle is configured to adhere. Using the control circuit, the vehicle is moved along the selected trajectory.

An electronic device for stopping a vehicle can be activated automatically in the presence of an emergency stopping instruction. A module calculates at least one automatic movement setpoint of the vehicle in order to follow an emergency stopping trajectory comprising a plurality of successive emergency stopping vectors each associated with a separate segment of a portion of the successive segments of the predefined trajectory, from at least for each emergency stopping vector: a stored last actual movement vector of the autonomous vehicle, the predefined movement trajectory of the autonomous vehicle, and a stored last location datum of the autonomous vehicle, and delivered by at least one sensor of the autonomous vehicle. An emergency steering module is capable of steering the vehicle according to said at least one setpoint.

An operation device for an autonomous vehicle includes a touch panel configured to display at least one of a start button and a deceleration button, and a notification button on the same screen. The autonomous vehicle is autonomously drivable. The start button is a button for starting driving of the autonomous vehicle in an autonomous drive mode. The deceleration button is a button for decelerating the autonomous vehicle during the autonomous drive mode. A method for providing a situational awareness interface for an occupant of an automated vehicle is provided. The method includes: generating a vehicle route graphic that displays a street level map of an area that includes a current location of the vehicle and an intended destination of the vehicle along with a visual depiction of a planned route and one or more alternate routes for the vehicle; determining a probability of requiring assistance or interaction and an estimated time of arrival for each of the planned route and the one or more alternate routes; providing a visual indication of the probability of requiring assistance or interaction and the estimated time of arrival for each of the planned route and the one or more alternate routes on the vehicle route graphic; and signaling a display device to display the vehicle route graphic.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE FLOW SYNCHRONIZATION WITH RESPECT TO A WORK MACHINE IN A MATERIAL LOADING CYCLE
A system and method are provided for flow synchronization between various transport vehicles (e.g. dump trucks) and a work machine (e.g. excavator) in a material loading cycle. The work machine and each transport vehicle are configured to communicate with each other via a machine-to-machine communications network. A controller determines initiation of a loading cycle associated with the work machine and a first transport vehicle, and detects certain parameters corresponding to a duration of the loading cycle (e.g. weight of payload, volume of truck bin, historical cycle data). A remaining time in the loading cycle duration is accordingly estimated, and an output signal corresponding to the estimated remaining time is generated to at least a next transport vehicle in a loading sequence. The system and method facilitate even spacing of transport vehicles, consistent travel speeds, and optimization of a number of loading vehicles required to coordinate with a given work machine.
Lane keeping for autonomous vehicles
A system for a lane keeping feature of a vehicle is provided. The lane keeping feature has a predefined safety requirement criterion for keeping the vehicle within bounds while the lane keeping feature is active. The system comprises a road estimation module and a trajectory planning module. The road estimation module is configured to receive sensor data comprising information about a surrounding environment of the vehicle, and to determine a drivable area based on the sensor data. The drivable area comprises a left boundary and a right boundary extending along a direction of travel of the vehicle, wherein each boundary comprises a plurality of points distributed along each boundary, each point being associated with a confidence level. The trajectory planning module is configured to receive the determined drivable area, and to determine a nominal trajectory for the vehicle based on the received drivable area.
