Each of the head chips has nozzles configured to discharge a liquid. The first sidewall is formed by a portion of a holder from which the liquid is to be supplied to the head chips, whereas the second sidewall is formed by a portion of a fixed plate to which the head chips are fixed. The fixed plate has an aperture through which the nozzles are exposed.

Inkjet recording apparatus

The inkjet recording apparatus includes a conveyance belt, a conveyance plate, a suction unit, an inkjet head, and a cleaning unit. The conveyance belt has a plurality of through holes. The conveyance plate includes a plurality of through holes formed in bottom portions of the plurality of recessed portions. The suction unit is configured to suck the sheet to the conveyance belt. The inkjet head includes a head main body and a head end portion adjacent to the head main body, and faces an upper surface of the conveyance plate via the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit removes ink adhering to a lower surface of the head main body. A depth of the recessed portion in a facing region facing the head end portion of the conveyance plate is shallower than a depth of the recessed portion in a region other than the facing region.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESERVING INK VISCOSITY IN INKJETS IN AN INKJET PRINTER DURING PRINTING

An inkjet printer includes solvent vapor generators that direct two flows of solvent vapor on each side of each printhead in the process direction toward media passing the printheads in the printer. The solvent vapor attenuates the evaporation of ink solvent from ink drops on the nozzle plates or from the ink in the nozzles of the printheads. Thus, the ink on the nozzle plates and in the nozzles does not dry out and the operational status of the inkjets is preserved.

A maintenance jig includes a protector and an opening. The protector is configured to be attached to a head that has a nozzle surface including a nozzle row to discharge liquid or a head holder that holds the head. The protector is configured to protect the nozzle row. The opening is adjacent to the protector in a lateral direction of the nozzle row intersecting a longitudinal direction of the nozzle row. A distance between an end of the protector in the longitudinal direction of the nozzle row and the nozzle surface is larger than a distance between a portion of the protector other than the end of the protector in the longitudinal direction and the nozzle surface when the maintenance jig is attached to the head or the head holder.

A liquid discharging apparatus includes: a first storage which stores liquid; a first detector which detects an amount of the liquid in the first storage; a communication hole communicating the first storage and outside; a semipermeable membrane arranged to cover the communication hole; a head unit having at least one nozzle which discharges the liquid supplied from the first storage; a liquid flow channel which communicates the first storage and the head unit; a cap which seals the nozzle of the head unit; a cap movement mechanism which moves the cap; an electrode arranged in the cap and on which the liquid discharged from the nozzle is landed; a second detector connected electrically to the electrode; a suction mechanism which sucks the liquid and gas inside the cap; a waste liquid storage which stores the liquid sucked from inside of the cap by the suction mechanism; and a controller.

Ink jet recording apparatus

An ink jet recording apparatus includes an ink container in which ink to be used to perform printing on a print target is stored, a nozzle which is connected to the ink container and from which pressurized and supplied ink is jetted, charging electrodes that charge ink particles jetted from the nozzle with electricity, deflecting electrodes that polarize the ink particles charged with electricity by the charging electrodes, a gutter that recovers ink not used for printing, a solvent container in which a solvent is stored, and a liquid nozzle which is connected to the solvent container and from which a pressurized and supplied solvent is jetted. The liquid nozzle includes a liquid flow passage portion that extends from the nozzle in a direction of the gutter, and a liquid jet hole that is formed at an angle allowing the pressurized and supplied solvent to hit the nozzle through the liquid flow passage portion.

LIQUID DISCHARGE HEAD AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS

A liquid discharge head includes a nozzle member. The nozzle member includes a nozzle, a deformable laminar member, and an electromechanical transducer. The nozzle discharges liquid. The deformable laminar member has an opening forming the nozzle. The electromechanical transducer is disposed around the opening. The nozzle member is warped with respect to a discharge-side plane of the nozzle member in a surrounding area of the nozzle when no voltage is applied to the electromechanical transducer.
