Continuation analysis tasks for GPU task scheduling

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing continuation analysis tasks (CATs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system implements hardware acceleration of CATs to manage the dependencies and scheduling of an application composed of multiple tasks. In one embodiment, a continuation packet is referenced directly by a first task. When the first task completes, the first task enqueues a continuation packet on a first queue. The first task can specify on which queue to place the continuation packet. The agent responsible for the first queue dequeues and executes the continuation packet which invokes an analysis phase which is performed prior to determining which dependent tasks to enqueue. If it is determined during the analysis phase that a second task is now ready to be launched, the second task is enqueued on one of the queues. Then, an agent responsible for this queue dequeues and executes the second task.

To preferentially execute an instruction with higher priority in a case of the CNC being unable to respond due to being an unresponsive timing, load on the bus or the like. A PLC device includes: a special instruction control unit that sets a priority degree indicating a degree of priority for executing predetermined processing to a special instruction for performing the predetermined processing in a control device that controls an industrial machine, and transmits the special instruction in which the priority degree is set to the control device; an instruction storage determining unit that determines whether or not to queue the special instruction according to an operation state of the control device; and an instruction storage unit that sequentially stores the special instruction received, on the basis of a determination result of the instruction storage determining unit.

Adaptive resource provisioning for a multi-tenant distributed event data store
11531570 · 2022-12-20 · ·

Systems and methods for adaptively provisioning a distributed event data store of a multi-tenant architecture are provided. According to one embodiment, a managed security service provider (MSSP) maintains a distributed event data store on behalf of each tenant of the MSSP. For each tenant, the MSSP periodically determines a provisioning status for a current active partition of the distributed event data store of the tenant. Further, when the determining indicates an under-provisioning condition exits, the MSSP dynamically increases number of resource provision units (RPUs) to be used for a new partition to be added to the partitions for the tenant by a first adjustment ratio. While, when the determining indicates an over-provisioning condition exists, the MSSP dynamically decreases the number of RPUs to be used for subsequent partitions added to the partitions for the tenant by a second adjustment ratio.

An apparatus comprises first instruction execution circuitry, second instruction execution circuitry, and a decoupled access buffer. Instructions of an ordered sequence of instructions are issued to one of the first and second instruction execution circuitry for execution in dependence on whether the instruction has a first type label or a second type label. An instruction with the first type label is an access-related instruction which determines at least one characteristic of a load operation to retrieve a data value from a memory address. Instruction execution by the first instruction execution circuitry of instructions having the first type label is prioritised over instruction execution by the second instruction execution circuitry of instructions having the second type label. Data values retrieved from memory as a result of execution of the first type instructions are stored in the decoupled access buffer.

DETECTING AND RECOVERING LOST ADJUNCT PROCESSOR MESSAGES
20220391213 · 2022-12-08 ·

A method, computer program product, and computer system are provided. An operating system (OS) receives a status at completion of a cryptographic adjunct process (AP) instruction directed to an AP message queue on a cryptographic AP. The status includes a return code, a reason code, a queue full indicator, a queue empty indicator, and the count of enqueued request messages on the AP message queue. The OS determines a number of lost request messages on the AP message queue, based on a count of enqueued request messages on the AP message queue received in the status. The OS re-enqueues the number of lost request messages to the AP message queue. The OS recovers the number of lost request messages on the AP message queue.
