The disclosure generally pertains to a remote-control vehicle maneuvering system that includes a personal communication device configured to eliminate vehicle motion interference during a remote-control vehicle maneuvering operation. In an example scenario, an individual may stand in a vehicle having a trailer attached (or stand on the trailer) and perform actions upon the personal communication device so as to transmit commands to a vehicle controller of the vehicle for moving the vehicle backwards in a desired direction. The actions performed by the individual may include tilting the personal communication device to command the vehicle controller to increase a speed of the vehicle. While doing so, various factors such as an object on the road, may cause the vehicle to tilt, thereby increasing a tilt angle of the personal communication device and causing the vehicle to accelerate dangerously. The personal communication device is configured to eliminate interference caused by such factors.
Vehicle operation with docked smart device
A vehicle is equipped with a docking station for a driver's smart device. The smart device displays engine related and other information to the driver while operating the vehicle. The smart device provides a supplementary screen to the screen installed in the vehicle at manufacture, or acts as an alternative to having a screen installed at manufacture. The docked smart device replaces one or more of the instruments normally present in a vehicle dashboard or motorcycle instrument cluster. The smart device also controls operation of the vehicle.

A device for controlling ambient lighting of a vehicle includes a light element in a vehicle interior, a touch-sensitive display unit, and a control unit. The light element emits light in one of a plurality of colors that can be generated by the light element. The display unit displays a plurality of colors of a predefined color spectrum simultaneously in a color scale, and detects a location of a user input made by touching the display unit. Via the detected location, the user input is assigned to an associated color displayed in the color scale and information about the color assigned to the user input is transmitted to the control unit, which controls the light element for emitting light in the color assigned to the user input. The light element and display unit have the same color space, such that the color associated with the user input, displayed on the display unit are the same.

A vehicle cabin control device includes: a plurality of seating surface changing devices; a determination unit; and an output unit. The seating surface changing devices is configured to change orientations of seating surfaces of a plurality of vehicle seats. When the determination unit determines that the sharing state is desirable, the output unit operates the seating surface changing devices so as to change orientations of bodies of the occupants to such orientations that the occupants easily communicate with each other. When the determination unit determines that the sharing state is not desirable, the output unit operates the seating surface changing device so as to change an orientation of the body of the occupant to such an orientation that the occupant does not easily communicates with the other occupants.

The input unit has a touch-sensitive screen for inputting a current set of control information for the control unit. The control unit controls the light sources on the basis of the current set of control information. Furthermore, the input unit, on the basis of the current set of control information, displays associated ambient lighting and/or reading lighting for an illuminable region in the vehicle interior on the screen.
