The invention relates to a motor vehicle instrument cluster, comprising a digital display screen which is intended to be hidden from the vehicle passengers and capable of displaying a source image containing a multitude of indicator modules for the driver of the vehicle, and a panel (20) located below the digital display screen, at least the main central (20A) and upper (20B) portions of said panel being opaque and reflective, the panel (20) being inclined relative to the display screen so as to reflect the source image towards the driver so that the latter perceives, in his/her field of vision, a virtual image located in front of the panel (20), characterized in that the lateral (20C) and lower (20D) portions of the panel (20) are transparent.

There are provided a reflection film, a windshield glass, and a head-up display system capable of suppressing formation of double images of a display image. The reflection film has a linearly polarized light reflection layer in which optically anisotropic layers and isotropic layers are laminated and a polarization converting layer, and the polarization converting layer satisfies any of conditions below. (A) The polarization converting layer is a retardation layer in which the front retardation is 30 nm to 200 nm and the angle between a slow axis direction and a direction of the transmission axis of the linearly polarized light reflection layer is 35° or less. (B) The polarization converting layer is a layer in which a helical alignment structure of a liquid crystal compound is fixed, and the number of pitches x in the helical alignment structure and the film thickness y (unit .Math.m) of the polarization converting layer satisfy all relational expressions below.

A virtual image display device according to an embodiment is a virtual image display device that displays information to a passenger on a vehicle. The virtual image display device includes a first virtual image display unit that displays a virtual image as information. The first virtual image display unit has a virtual image display portion that displays a virtual image and a rotating unit that rotates the virtual image display portion in a range in which the virtual image is visually recognizable by the passenger.

Image distortion correction circuit and display device
An image distortion correction circuit performs a distortion correction process on an image signal on the basis of distortion correction data to generate a distortion-corrected image signal. The distortion correction data is for correcting coordinate positions of display data fragments corresponding to respective N coordinate positions in the display image to first to N-th distortion correction coordinate positions. The image distortion correction circuit determines a distortion correction coordinate position where abnormality occurs as an abnormal coordinate position among the first to N-th distortion correction coordinate positions on the basis of respective intervals between the adjacent first to N-th distortion correction coordinate positions indicated by the distortion correction data. The image distortion correction circuit corrects a part corresponding to the abnormal coordinate position in the distortion correction data on the basis of at least the two distortion correction coordinate positions excluding the abnormal coordinate position among the first to N-th distortion correction coordinate positions.

In an information display system that allows an observer to visually recognize image information displayed on an image display apparatus by superimposing the image on an external scenery through a window glass and a combiner, the system includes a light source apparatus that supplies light having a specific polarization direction at a narrow divergence angle to the image display apparatus, a reflection position of the image is changed by arranging a position and an angle of the image display apparatus with respect to the window glass so that the position and the angle change while a monitoring angle of the image visually recognized by the observer is constant, and a virtual image display distance of the image visually recognized by the observer and a size of the image of the virtual image can be changed by the arrangement state in the vehicle.
