Luminescent trim light assembly

A vehicle trim light assembly is provided herein. The trim light assembly includes a substrate mated to a housing. A light source and luminescent structure are disposed within the substrate and housing. The light source provides light at a first wavelength. The luminescent structure is excited by light at the first wavelength thereby emitting light at a second wavelength through the housing to provide lighting to an occupant within the vehicle.

INPUT DEVICE

An input device is adapted to be installed in an operation control device equipped with a shaft portion and a grip portion. The shaft portion is configured to be rotatable about an axis extending in a reference direction. The grip portion is adapted to be gripped by a hand of a user and configured to rotate the shaft portion about the axis in accordance with a movement along with a travelling path to perform a steering operation. An operation receiving section is adapted to be disposed between the shaft portion and the grip portion when viewed from the reference direction, and configured to receive an operation with the hand for performing a controlled operation that is different from the steering operation. At least a part of the operation receiving section is adapted to be disposed ahead of a point located rearmost of the grip portion relative to the reference direction.

ERGONOMIC SELECTOR CONFIGURATION

A vehicle includes a console positioned within a passenger cabin. A selector interface is defined within the console. The selector interface is selectively operable between a stowed position within the console and an actuating position that exposes control surfaces of the selector interface relative to the console. An operating system is in communication with the selector interface when the selector interface is in the actuating position. An articulating element operates the selector interface between the stowed position and the actuating position. The articulating element is activated through a designated user gesture relative to the console.

USER INTERFACE FOR CONTROLLING SAFETY CRITICAL FUNCTIONS OF A VEHICLE

A user interface for controlling a function of a vehicle is provided. The user interface comprises a manual input device for generating a user input signal in response to manual actuation by a user and one or more proximity sensors for being arranged in a vicinity of the manual input device, wherein each proximity sensor is configured to generate a proximity sensor signal in response to presence of a hand in a vicinity of the proximity sensor. Furthermore, the user interface comprises a processing circuitry configured to control the function of the vehicle based on the user input signal and the one or more proximity sensor signals.

Delimitation in unsupervised classification of gestures

A method for classifying a gesture made in proximity to a touch interface. A system receives data related to the position and/or movement of hand. The data is delimited by identifying a variable length window of touch frames. The variable length window of touch frames is selected to include touch frames indicative of feature data. The variable length window of touch frames is classified based upon classifications learned by the classifying module to identify gestures.

VEHICLE CONTROL PANEL WITH PASSENGER DETECTION FOR FUNCTION ENABLEMENT

The invention is an apparatus used for providing control of functions of a vehicle in response to touch commands of an authorized passenger. The functions for which the authorized passenger is provided control are disallowed to the driver when the vehicle is moving. The passenger is authorized with two-factor authentication. The first of the two factors is the fingerprint of the passenger which is enrolled before vehicle movement. The second factor is the location of the passenger. The first factor is used when an occupant attempts to control disallowed functions. The second factor is used when an occupant attempts to enroll a fingerprint. A display panel displays a prompt to enroll a fingerprint before vehicle movement, uses a fingerprint interface to enroll an original fingerprint, and instantaneously captures fingerprints of those attempting to control disallowed functions and compares them to enrolled fingerprints.

AUTOMOTIVE TRIM PIECE WITH INTUITIVE SMART SWITCHES LOCATED UNDER THE AUTOMOTIVE SOFT TRIM SKIN

A vehicle door trim interior, including: an armrest; a surface depression located in the armrest, wherein the surface depression is covered with a skin; at least one actuation switch located below the skin and in the surface depression; and a position control switch associated with least one actuation switch, the position control switch only becoming active upon actuation of the at least one actuation switch.

Vehicle interior component having accentuatable operating element and vehicle equipped with same

A vehicle interior component includes a first surface, a second surface that is adjacent to the first surface, an edge disposed between the first surface and the second surface, and an operating element where an item of operating information can be input by the operating element. The operating element is disposed adjacent to the edge on the first surface and/or on the second surface and the operating element is nonvisible in an inoperative state and is visible in an operative state.

Systems and methods for user interaction based vehicle feature control

A method for controlling vehicle operations based on user orientation and user interaction data is provided. The method includes detecting, using a sensor operating in conjunction with the computing device of the vehicle, an orientation of a part of a user relative to a location on a display that is positioned in an interior of the vehicle, detecting, using an additional sensor, an interaction between the user and a portion of the display positioned in the interior of the vehicle, determining, using the computing device, whether a distance between the location and the portion of the display satisfies a threshold, and controlling, by the computing device, an operation associated with the vehicle responsive to determining that the distance between the location and the portion of the display satisfies the threshold.
