Catalyst Particles and Methods for Making Same
Catalyst particles and methods for making same are disclosed herein. The catalyst particles can include a ceramic support containing silica and alumina. The ceramic support can have a macropore concentration of about 15% to about 45%, a mesopore concentration of about 20% to 50%, and a micropore concentration of about 8% to about 30% based on the total pore volume of the ceramic support. The ceramic support can also have a surface area of about 0.5 m.sup.2/g to about 50 m.sup.2/g. The catalyst particles can have a long term permeability at 7,500 psi of at least about 10 D in accordance with ISO 13503-5.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING TRANSITION ALUMINA CATALYST MONOLITHS
A method for producing a three-dimensional porous transition alumina catalyst monolith of stacked catalyst fibers, comprising the following steps: a) Preparing a suspension paste in a liquid diluent of hydroxide precursor particles or oxyhydroxide precursor particles of transition alumina particles or mixtures thereof and which suspension can furthermore comprise a binder material in a maximum amount of 20 wt %, based on the amount of hydroxide precursor particles or oxyhydroxide precursor particles of transition alumina particles or mixtures thereof and/or a plasticizer and/or a dopant in a maximum amount of 10 wt %, based on the amount of hydroxide precursor particles or oxyhydroxide precursor particles of transition alumina particles or mixtures thereof, all particles in the suspension having a number average particle size in the range of from 0.05 to 700 m, b) extruding the paste of step a) through one or more nozzles to form fibers, and depositing the extruded fibers to form a three-dimensional porous catalyst monolith precursor, c) drying the porous catalyst monolith precursor to remove the liquid diluent, d) performing a temperature treatment of the dried porous catalyst monolith precursor of step c) at a temperature in the range of from 500 to 1000 C., to form the transition alumina catalyst monolith, wherein no temperature treatment of the porous catalyst monolith precursor or porous catalyst monolith at temperatures above 1000 C. is performed and wherein no further catalytically active metals, metal oxides or metal compounds are applied to the surface of the transition alumina precursor particles, the catalyst monolith precursor or transition alumina catalyst monolith. no further catalytically active metals, metal oxides or metal compounds are present in the suspension paste.
Aromatization Catalyst And Preparation Process And Use Thereof
An aromatization catalyst and preparation process and use thereof is set forth. The catalyst comprises an inorganic oxide and a modified Ga-ZSM-5 zeolite, which comprises a modified ZSM-5 zeolite with a hierarchical macro-meso-microporosity and gallium deposited in channels of and/or on surfaces of the modified ZSM-5 zeolite. The hierarchical porosity of the modified ZSM-5 zeolite in the catalyst can reduce diffusion resistance of products during the aromatization reaction, thereby retarding carbon depositing rate and substantially improving catalytic activity, aromatic hydrocarbon selectivity, stability and lifetime of the catalyst. When being used in aromatization of propane, the catalyst exhibits a high stability, a lifetime of more than 320 hours, and a selectivity to aromatic hydrocarbons of up to 73.3 wt. %.
Catalyst compositions comprising small size molecular sieves crystals deposited on a porous material
Catalyst compositions comprising an inorganic porous material with pore diameters of at least 2 nm and of crystals of molecular sieve, characterized in that the crystals of molecular sieve have an average diameter, measured by scanning electron microscopy, not bigger than 50 nm, and in that the catalyst composition presents a concentration of acid sites ranges from 50 to 1200 mol/g measured by TPD NH3 adsorption; and the XRD pattern of said catalyst composition is the same as the X ray diffraction pattern of said inorganic porous material.
