FIXTURE FOR EVALUATING HEADS-UP WINDSHIELDS
A test fixture (10) for HUD windshields (12) wherein aspherical devices (26) compensate for complex curvatures and optical aberrations in a heads-up display surface (16) of the windshield. Tunable lenses cooperate with a movable test matrix to improve image resolution and enhance ghost image reduction.
DETECTION OF A MALFUNCTIONING DISPLAY USING POWER MEASUREMENT
In various embodiments, a computer-implemented method comprises measuring a current drawn by a display panel, determining whether the current exceeds a threshold value, and upon determining that the current exceeds the threshold value, causing a light source associated with the display panel to shut off.
SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY MONITORED SIGNALLING OF A VEHICLE STATE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING A VEHICLE STATE-SIGNALLING DEVICE
The invention relates to a system for the monitored signalling of a vehicle state, in particular for the monitored signalling of an activated, at least partially automated, driving operating state of a motor vehicle and to a method for the automatic monitoring of a vehicle state-signalling device. Specifically, the invention relates not only to the system and to the method but also to a monitoring device for carrying out the method, to a computer program which is configured to execute the method and to a vehicle state-signalling device and to a vehicle, in particular to a motor vehicle, equipped with the system. In the method, a first control signal, which is configured to change an assigned signal encoder of the vehicle state-signalling device into a deactivated state, is transferred to the vehicle state-signalling device. Testing of a current actual operating state of the signal encoder is then carried out. If the testing reveals that the signal encoder is in an activated operating state despite the transferred control signal, at least one predetermined fault remedying action which is assigned to this test result is triggered.
HEAD-UP DISPLAY CALIBRATION
Calibrating a virtual image projected from a vehicle HUD system onto a windshield includes displaying a fiducial at a predetermined location upon the windshield, projecting a test image from a test image generator within the HUD system, aligning the test image with the fiducial, determining a positional deviation from a test image calibrated position required to align the test image with the fiducial, and based upon the positional deviation and a known positional relationship between a virtual image calibrated position and the test image calibrated position, aligning the virtual image with the fiducial.

Adaptive auto meter detection method based on character segmentation and cascade classifier
An adaptive automobile meter detection method based on character segmentation cascade classifier which processes threshold segmentation, morphology and connected components analysis on the original image; extracts the pointer based on the contour analysis method, establishes a pointer information list; constructs a character segmentation cascade classifier by combining a HOG/SVM character segmentation classifier, a character filter and a CNN digit classifier. The character segmentation cascade classifiers is used to identify the digit character area of the automobile meter. Region analysis is performed to extract tick marks based on the center of the digit character area. The angular position corresponding to the tick mark is determined. The response value corresponding to the pointer is determined by establishing the Newton interpolation linear description relationship between the pointer angle and the response value and then the meter is classified as pass or fail. The invention is suitable for the field of visual inspection of automobile meter pointers.
VEHICLE SYSTEM
A vehicle system includes a human machine interface (HMI) and a controller circuit. The HMI accepts inputs from a user. The controller circuit is configured to receive a first input from the user via the HMI, anticipate a potential second input from the user via the HMI, determine potential system failures based on at least one of an operating state of the system and the potential second input, determine, based on historical data, whether an input sequence comprising the first input from the user and the potential second input from the user is likely to impact performance of the system and or one or more components of the system, and if the input sequence is likely to result in the impact to the performance of the system and or the one or more components of the system, enact at least one countermeasure to avoid or reduce the impact.
ANGLE-OF-VIEW TESTING METHOD, DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR A PROJECTION DISPLAY DEVICE
An angle-of-view testing method for a projection display device, including setting a reference viewpoint at a same side as a reflective surface associated with the projection display device, setting a metrical marker plate with a metrical marker at another side opposite to the reflective surface at a first distance from the reference viewpoint, projecting a testing picture onto the reflective surface by the projection display device, where light of the testing picture is reflected by the reflective surface toward the reference viewpoint, such that a projected image as a virtual image of the testing picture is observed at the reference viewpoint as being projected onto the metrical marker plate, determining the coverage of the projected image with respect to the metrical marker of the metrical marker plate, and determining an angle of view of the projection display device based on the determined coverage.
Flammability resistant visual display assembly
An electronic unit defines an interior and includes a circuit card assembly disposed in the interior. An enclosure surrounds five sides of the interior. A sixth side of the interior is closed by a circuit card assembly. The circuit card assembly is coated with a metal layer configured to contain flame within the interior.
