Meter
A meter includes at least one meter unit, a visor provided around the meter unit; and a light-emitting part. The light-emitting part includes a light-guiding ring, a light source and a prism provided between the light guiding ring and the light source. The light-emitting part is annularly provided so as to cover an outer periphery of a dial panel of the meter unit. The light guiding ring is composed of a light guiding body and a light shielding body. The light shielding body is integrally formed with the light guiding body so as to cover the light guiding body. The light guiding ring is fixed to a mounting part provided in a proximity of an end part of the visor.

A head-up display system for a vehicle having a windshield is provided. The head-up display system includes a first image generation device and an optical system. The first image generation device is configured to provide a first light. The optical system is configured to reflect the first light. A first distance between the first image generation device and the optical system is greater than a second distance between the optical system and the windshield.
METER DEVICE
A meter device includes an instrument panel, a coaxial motor, a central light source, a peripheral light source, and units. The coaxial motor includes rotation shafts which rotate around a single axis perpendicular to the instrument panel. The central light source is disposed near the rotation shafts. The peripheral light source is disposed more distantly from the rotation shafts than the central light source. The units rotate together with the rotation shafts, respectively. The units includes indicator parts, respectively. Each of the indicator parts guides light to emit the light, thereby indicating a surface of the instrument panel. The units include a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a light path which guides light from the central light source to the indicator part. The second unit includes a light path which guides light from the peripheral light source to the indicator part, and a non-light guide part that prevents the light of the central light source from being guided to the indicator part.

A vehicle user interface apparatus for a vehicle including a light emitting unit configured to emit light; a touch sensor configured to sense a touch; a processor configured to control the light emitting unit to emit the light in response to an event, activate the touch sensor when the light is emitted, and provide a signal to control a vehicle device corresponding to a touch input received through the activated touch sensor; and a cover covering the light emitting unit, the touch sensor, and the processor, the cover configured to transmit the light into a passenger compartment with a specific shape when the light is emitted.
Pupillated illumination apparatus
A switchable backlight for a switchable privacy display apparatus comprises a collimated waveguide, first and second light sources and an optical turning film comprising elongate prismatic elements with facet orientations that pupillate the output of the waveguide in two orthogonal directions for each of first and second light sources. High luminance uniformity is achieved for a head-on user in privacy and public viewing modes and high uniformity of security factor is achieved for off-axis snoopers, with increased speed of privacy switch-on in privacy mode.
Backlight for switchable directional display
A switchable backlight for a switchable privacy display apparatus comprises a collimated waveguide and an optical turning film comprising first and second arrays of elongate prismatic elements. High image luminance and image visibility is provided for off-axis viewers in a public mode of operation while in a privacy mode of operation visual security level above a perceived privacy threshold may be achieved for off-axis snoopers.
Trim element comprising two independent backlit areas
A trim element having a coating layer defining an outer surface and an inner surface, the coating layer including at least two distinct backlit pattern areas separated by at least one opaque area preventing the passage of light from the inner surface to the outer surface. The trim element includes at least one light source for each backlit pattern area, the light source being fixed on the inner surface of the coating layer facing an opaque area while being spaced apart from the corresponding backlit pattern area. The trim element has one light guide per backlit pattern area.
Light guide device
A light guide device that performs uniform brightness transmitted light illumination regardless of a distance from an incident portion is provided. Light that is emitted from a light source, and enters from an incident portion of a light guide member (light guide body) made of a translucent member formed along an outer edge portion of a decorated portion, travels in the light guide portion while repeating total reflection by an inner surface of the light guide member. In the light-guiding portion, the light is guided in the decorated portion made of a translucent member from the inside of the light guide member, and is emitted outside by being scattered by the inside of the decorated portion, and in the non-light-guiding portion, the light that travels in the light guide member is prevented from traveling in the decorated portion.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a liquid crystal panel providing a display surface where an image is displayed, a backlight emitting light to the liquid crystal panel from behind, a real object placed between the liquid crystal panel and the backlight and visible through the liquid crystal panel, and a controller controlling the liquid crystal panel such that a specific pixel region of the display surface behind which the real object is positioned is higher in light transmittance than another pixel region of the display surface.

The display device includes a view angle control panel; in a sharing mode phase, a same voltage is provided for the first electrode and the second electrode; in a privacy mode phase, a first voltage is provided for the first electrode, and an alternating voltage signal is provided for the second electrode, where a high voltage of the alternating voltage signal is greater than the first voltage, and a low voltage of the alternating voltage signal is less than the first voltage; in a transition phase, the first voltage is provided for the first electrode, and a voltage signal with gradually changing duty cycles is provided for the second electrode; where the transition phase is located between the sharing mode phase and the privacy mode phase.
