An electronic device includes: a panel; and a main body to which the panel is reversibly attached, the main body includes: first and second wiring extraction portions as defined herein; wiring connection terminals that are provided as defined herein; a first wiring area as defined herein; a second wiring area as defined herein; and a wire that extends from one of the first and second wiring extraction portions to one of the wiring connection terminals so as to be electrically connected to the panel, and the wire is arranged to extend from the first wiring extraction portion to the one of the wiring connection terminals via the first wiring area, or is arranged to extend from the second wiring extraction portion to the one of the wiring connection terminals via the first and second wiring areas.

Interior display systems and methods

System and method for using an interior display device in a vehicle. The interior display device includes a projection device and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a plurality of vehicle parameters and determine an expected location within an interior of the vehicle based on the plurality of vehicle parameters. The expected location corresponds to an interior area of the vehicle where a driver would be expected to look. The controller is further configured to select an image (515, 520) based on the plurality of vehicles parameters and operate the projection device to project the image at the expected location within the interior of the vehicle.

Roof Console for a Vehicle

A roof console for a vehicle has at least one touch-slide operating element for controlling functional elements of the vehicle. A touch-slide operating element in the sense of this application is a touch-sensitive operating element with a one-dimensional extent. As a result of the one-dimensional extent, the operating elements can beneficially recognize gestures in the form of tapping and swiping which permits excellent blind operation. The swiping movements can also be detected in both directions of the one-dimensional extent.

METHOD FOR PRESENTING INFORMATION UPON STARTING AN AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE

A method for presenting information upon starting an automotive vehicle includes at least one step in which various parameters associated with the vehicle are verified. Also included is a step in which a particular light beam is projected onto a specific area of the passenger compartment of the vehicle when the state of a plurality of verified parameters allows the vehicle to be started.

FLEXIBLE DISPLAY FRAMEWORK FOR CARS

A motor vehicle includes a window and a body having a storage space with an opening facing toward the window. A flexible electronic display is movable from a first position overlying the window and a second position within the storage space. The window may be a windshield, and the storage space may be within a roof of the vehicle.

Vehicle with a display device

A display panel with a pixel matrix has control circuitry designed to actuate at least one pixel element of the pixel matrix for displaying at least one graphic display object. The display panel is flexible and is movably supported by a controllable supporting arrangement. An electronic control unit can adjust a position of the display panel as a function of a position signal between a first position, where the display panel can cover at least one portion of a vehicle roof, and a second position, where the display panel can cover at least one portion of a windscreen.

Head-up display for a motor vehicle

A head-up display system for a motor vehicle includes a projection unit for providing a display image; a transparent holographic light guide display panel with a display surface in order to output a display image coupled into the display panel via a coupling-in region on a display surface, and a light guide which runs in a non-linear manner in order to guide a display image from the projection unit to the coupling-in region of the display panel.

Method for operating a display apparatus for a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle

A method for operating a display device for a motor vehicle, in particular for an autonomously or partially autonomously operable motor vehicle, which includes a plurality of display areas, wherein a display area is selected from the plurality of display areas on the basis of a configuration of the motor vehicle that is adjustable by a driver of the motor vehicle. A motor vehicle includes a control device for implementing such a method.

Method and apparatus for automotive variable impedance touch sensor array

The present invention relates to automotive interface systems and methods. In one embodiment, an automotive interface system includes a steering wheel and an integrated interpolated variable impedance array that comprises a grid of sensing elements. The sensing elements are configured to power on simultaneously and to simultaneously generate multiple currents along multiple current paths in response to sensing a touch wherein the amount of current generated by a sensing element of the grid is directly proportional to the force applied by the touch. The automotive interface system also includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a processor communicatively coupled to the interpolated variable impedance array that are configured to receive the multiple currents along multiple current paths and determine a location, a duration, an area, and a force of the touch from the multiple currents along multiple current paths.
