An apparatus for precisely and accurately measuring the loft and lie of a golf club, and a method of using such apparatus, is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a clamp assembly powered by a pressure unit to immobilize the head of a golf club, a scoreline measurement unit to capture scoreline angle information, loft and lie measurement arrays that can be moved along horizontal y and x axes to capture loft and lie angle information of the golf club shaft, and a computer with an algorithm that uses information captured by the scoreline measurement unit and loft and lie measurement arrays to calculate final loft and lie angle values that are accurate within +/−0.125°.

A modular golf club head system provides a hosel adapter that can be attached to the club head at different rotational positions to selectively change the loft or lie angle of the club head. The club head defines a hosel ball socket, and a locator pin extends from the socket. The hosel adapter has a shaft end configured for connecting to a golf club shaft, and a distal end including a hosel ball inserted into the hosel ball socket. The hosel ball defines at least one first locator pin recess and at least one second locator pin recess. The locator pin recesses formed in said hosel ball at differing angles, wherein insertion of the locator pin into the first locator pin recess defines at least one of the loft and lie angle of the club head, and insertion of the locator pin into the second locator pin recess defines a different loft or lie angle of the club head.

A modular golf club head system provides a hosel adapter that can be attached to the club head at different rotational positions to selectively change the loft or lie angle of the club head. The club head defines a hosel ball socket, and a locator pin extends from the socket. The hosel adapter has a shaft end configured for connecting to a golf club shaft, and a distal end including a hosel ball inserted into the hosel ball socket. The locator pin recesses formed in said hosel ball at differing angles, wherein insertion of the locator pin into the first locator pin recess defines at least one of the loft and lie angle of the club head, and insertion of the locator pin into the second locator pin recess defines a different loft or lie angle of the club head.

A golf club connecting apparatus for securely connecting a golf club shaft and a club head having a hosel portion is disclosed. The apparatus could be advantageously employed with various types of golf clubs. The apparatus comprises a hosel adapter, a shaft adapter, and at least one fastener, for example, a nut. The hosel adapter is configured to insert into the hosel portion such that the hosel adapter is positioned within the cylindrical sleeve of the hosel portion. The shaft adapter is securely affixed to the terminal end of the golf club shaft, wherein the shaft adapter is configured to insert into the hosel adapter via a longitudinal bore. The fastener is configured to threadably engage to the hosel adapter via the plurality of threads, thereby securing the club head and the golf club shaft together by inserting the shaft adapter into the hosel adapter.

A golf club connecting apparatus for securely connecting a golf club shaft and a club head having a hosel portion is disclosed. The apparatus could be advantageously employed with various types of golf clubs. The apparatus comprises a hosel adapter, a shaft adapter, and at least one fastener, for example, a nut. The hosel adapter is configured to insert into the hosel portion such that the hosel adapter is positioned within the cylindrical sleeve of the hosel portion. The shaft adapter is securely affixed to the terminal end of the golf club shaft, wherein the shaft adapter is configured to insert into the hosel adapter via a longitudinal bore. Customizable golf putters are disclosed. The putters include a putter face; a putter head that is configured to be reversibly connected to the putter face (with the putter head being selected from a plurality of different putter head styles); and a hosel that is configured to be reversibly connected to any of a plurality of hosel receiving channels that are accessible on a top surface of the putter head (the hosel is also selected from a plurality of different hosel styles). The golf putters further include a threaded shaft connector that is configured to reversibly connect the hosel to a putter shaft. In addition, the golf putters include one or more peg fillers, which are configured to be inserted into empty hosel receiving channels.

Customizable golf putters are disclosed. The putters include a putter face; a putter head that is configured to be reversibly connected to the putter face (with the putter head being selected from a plurality of different putter head styles); and a hosel that is configured to be reversibly connected to any of a plurality of hosel receiving channels that are accessible on a top surface of the putter head (the hosel is also selected from a plurality of different hosel styles). The golf putters further include a threaded shaft connector that is configured to reversibly connect the hosel to a putter shaft. In addition, the golf putters include one or more peg fillers, which are configured to be inserted into empty hosel receiving channels.

Examples of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a body portion of a golf club head may include a cavity having an opening and an interior structure defined by a wall portion and a base portion. A hosel portion may include an insert portion and a neck portion extending therefrom. The hosel portion may be attached to the body portion by an interference fit between the neck portion and the opening of the cavity. The insert portion may be received inside the cavity and may be spaced apart from the interior structure of the cavity. A space between the insert portion and the interior structure of the cavity may be partially or entirely filled with an adhesive to hold the hosel portion in place. Other examples may be described and claimed.

A putter type golf club includes a putter head with a ball striking face, a shaft attached to said putter head, and an elongated grip attached to the shaft. The elongated grip includes a lower section, an upper section and a cap forming a butt section at the upper area of the grip, the lower section of the elongated grip including a shaft opening at a lower end thereof, the lower section of the elongated grip structured to accommodate the hands of a golfer, the upper section of the elongated grip having a leading edge located in a direction toward and closest to an intended target with the putter head in a normal position prior to executing a normal putting stroke.
