A controller for detecting objects moving in a first direction in a computed tomography (CT) imaging system is provided. The controller is configured to detect objects by assembling a plurality of segments based on a plurality of CT imaging slices. In response to receiving a stop request, the controller is configured to detect objects by causing the CT imaging system to cease a flow of objects, discarding the one or more of the plurality of CT imaging slices associated with a first segment and a second segment of the plurality of segments, causing the CT imaging system to move the objects in a second direction for an interruption distance in which the second direction is opposite the first direction, causing the CT imaging system to move the objects in the first direction, and reassembling the first segment and the second segment.

MATRIX OF DETECTORS WITH STAGGERED COLUMNS

In one example, there is provided a matrix of detectors configured to be used in a system for inspecting cargo using inspection radiation. The matrix includes a plurality of columns of detector modules, the detector modules of each column extending along a substantially longitudinal direction, each detector module including a surface configured to receive the inspection radiation, and the plurality of columns of detector modules being adjacent to each other in a lateral direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and substantially parallel to the surfaces of the detector modules, wherein the plurality of columns of detector modules includes at least two columns of detector modules being offset with respect to each other in an in-depth direction substantially perpendicular to both the lateral direction and the longitudinal direction.

CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP SECURITY SCREENING BASED ON DISTRIBUTED SENSING

A method includes receiving distributed sensing information on one or more characteristics associated with a subject from sensors distributed between a starting location spaced from a resolution location and the resolution location, the resolution location including a targeted screening area, the characteristics being obtained from the sensors observing a plurality of candidate subjects including the subject; determining, based on the information on the characteristics, which category of a plurality of categories is to be associated with the subject for a targeted screening process to be performed in which respective categories correspond to different thresholds applied in the targeted screening process; and electronically communicating information for the category associated with the subject to an electronic device, to direct the subject to a location of the targeted screening area which corresponds to the category, for performing the targeted screening process of the subject corresponding to a threshold associated with the category.

System and method for object screening and handling

Systems and methods for automated security inspection and routing of in-transit objects are described. In one embodiment, a plurality of security screening devices are provided, each operable to output screening data of an in-transit object, including a first screening device located in a sealed environment of a vehicle for transporting the object towards a conveying system, including one or more measuring devices operable to measure screening parameters of the object when located in the sealed environment, and a second screening device in combination with conveying and routing components of the conveying system used to transport said objects from an ingress point through a conveyor junction to reach the second screening device. A control unit is assigned to the conveyor junction, wherein the control unit is configured to receive security data assigned on the basis of the screening data from the first screening device to the object upstream of the conveyor junction, and in response, to determine and set a routing direction on the basis of the assigned security data, whereby the object is directed downstream to a screening route for further screening by the second screening device, or to a loading route for objects cleared for loading. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Image quality test article set

A dosimeter assembly being placed within an inner volume of a test article for evaluating an image produced by an x-ray computed tomography (CT) system. The dosimeter assembly includes: a dosimeter having a display, a dosimeter shelf that supports the dosimeter; and an alignment bracket that positions the dosimeter on the dosimeter shelf. The dosimeter shelf is operable to be mounted within the x-ray computed tomography system test article, and the display of the dosimeter is viewable through a dosimeter window which is disposed at a front end of the x-ray computed tomography system test article, wherein the dosimeter assembly is accessible through an access panel directly beneath the dosimeter assembly, the access panel being an opening which is disposed on a base of the x-ray computer tomography system test article. The dosimeter is operably connected to a connection interface which is configured to exchange communication with an external device.

BAGGAGE INSPECTION DEVICE

This invention provides a baggage inspection device that can maintain or improve inspection throughput. The Baggage Inspection Device 100 according to an embodiment of this invention comprises Conveyor 20 that transports Baggage BA, Inspection Unit 10 that inspects Baggage BA, Curtain 31 that shields X-rays emitted from Inspection Unit 10, and Transportation Assist Mechanism 32 that assists transportation of Baggage BA by moving Curtain 31 that comes into contact with Baggage BA in a direction along Direction D1, i.e. the transport direction of Baggage BA.
