The controller is configured to determine, based on the eye tracking information, a second display of the plurality of displays to which the gaze of the driver is directed, select a first content to be displayed on the first display, where the first content is based on a gazed second content of the second display, and provide the first content to the first display to be displayed.
PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPERATION ASSISTANCE METHOD
Provided are a projection type display device and an operation assistance method that enable an operator to enjoy an operation assistance function even in the case of occurrence of abnormality in an optical modulation unit or an image information input unit during operation of a vehicle. A system control unit 47 of a HUD, if sensing abnormality in an optical modulation device 44 and a drive unit 45, stops a light source unit 40 and, furthermore, in the case of image information generated by a projected image information generation unit 52 including image information that calls attention of the operator to the front field of view, displays an alert image based on the image information on a liquid crystal display device 61 in a meter cluster.
DISPLAY DEVICE
The invention relates to a display device comprising a display plane, on which one or more planar display regions 10, 11 are arranged, said planar regions 10, 11 being covered by transparent coverings. A single transparent covering 3 covers all the planar display regions 10, 11 of the display device, is formed three-dimensionally on the viewer's side by regions of differing thicknesses and is connected on the side facing away from the viewer to the planar display regions 10, 11 by means of optical bonding. The refractive index of the material of the covering 3 corresponds to the refractive index of the optical-bonding material 8.

The determination unit determines whether or not a subject viewed from a passenger falls within a display range of a virtual image based on the position information of the subject acquired from a recognition unit that recognizes the subject in the foreground of a moving object and the estimated value of a depression angle acquired from an estimation unit that estimates the depression angle when the virtual image is viewed from the passenger. In a case where the subject is determined to fall within the display range, the controller controls a display unit to generate an image that represents a first display image showing the information corresponding to the subject.
