A vehicle control system includes one or more processors configured to assign plural vehicles to different groups in one or more vehicle systems for travel along one or more routes. The one or more processors also are configured to determine trip plans for the different groups. The trip plans designate different operational settings of the vehicles in the different groups at different locations along one or more routes during movement of the one or more vehicle systems along the one or more routes. The one or more processors also are configured to modify one or more of the groups to which the vehicles are assigned or the operational settings for the vehicles in one or more of the vehicle systems based on a movement parameter of one or more of the vehicle systems. The trip plans for the different groups of the vehicles are interdependent upon each other.

In one embodiment, a system includes a vehicle, one or more probes coupled to the vehicle, and a controller. The vehicle is operable to traverse a distance. The one or more probes are operable to measure wind pressure and generate one or more wind pressure measurements. The controller is operable to receive the one or more wind pressure measurements from the one or more probes, determine a wind angle relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements, and determine a wind speed relative to the vehicle using the one or more wind pressure measurements and the wind angle.
Methods and systems for fuel injector control
Methods and systems are provided for detection of a closing time for a solenoid valve. In one example, a method may include monitoring a current of the solenoid valve, filtering the current, and determining the closing time of the solenoid valve based on each of the current and the filtered current. In some examples, the solenoid valve may be an electrically-actuated fuel injection valve. In some examples, determining the closing time may include using the filtered current to determine an inflection point of the current.

A method and a computer software code for determining the mission plan with aspect information obtained from a remote location during the mission are also disclosed.

A system and method control a powered system having an engine configured to operate using a plurality of fuel types. A first set of control signals including a first set of valve signals are communicated to each fuel tank based at least in part on a first stored engine operating profile to control amounts of fuel provided from each fuel tank to the engine. A different, second set of control signals including a second set of valve signals are communicated to the fuel tanks based at least in part on a second stored engine operating profile to control or change the amounts of fuel from each fuel tank to the engine. The system and method can switch between operating conditions associated with different external domains to alter the engine operating profile used to control the fuel or fuels supplied to the engine.
Railcar control device, train set, and method of controlling traction motor
A railcar control device controls a plurality of traction motors included in a train set. The railcar control device includes: a control command input portion to which a control command is input; and a torque command determining portion configured to determine torque commands with respect to a plurality of traction motors such that when a required torque based on the control command input to the control command input portion is less than a maximum value, a torque of a specific traction motor among the plurality of traction motors is made lower than a torque of a different traction motor other than the specific traction motor.

A method is provided for operating a vehicle having a drive unit, a driving-data determination unit, a consumer set, and a power management unit for managing the consumer set. The driving-data determination unit identifies or determines driving curve data and the drive unit is controlled on the basis of the driving curve data. The method achieves an optimization with regard to a defined quality criterion while also taking the consumer set into account, in that the power management unit receives consumer data from the consumer set, the power management unit determines anticipatory load profile data at least on the basis of the consumer data, determination or identification data are transmitted to the driving-data determination unit in accordance with the load profile data, and the driving-data determination unit determines or identifies the driving curve data in accordance with the determination data.
