HEMOSTATIC COMPOSITIONS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
Compositions that include a clay such as kaolin dispersed in a liquid such as water may be useful for promoting the clotting of blood. The compositions may be in a liquid, gel, paste, foam, or another form. Uses may include treating a traumatic injury such as in injury caused by a bullet, an explosive, a blade etc., or an injury caused during a medical procedure such as surgery.
LIMB JACKET WRAP DRESSING
A wrap for treating wounds of a patient is disclosed. The wrap may include a first material layer and a second material layer. The wrap may also include a first pocket formed between the first material layer and the second material layer. A dressing may be located within the first pocket, between the first material layer and the second material layer and a first fluid port may extend between the first material layer to the first pocket.
PRESSURE-SENSING NEGATIVE PRESSURE THERAPY SPONGES AND METHODS FOR THE CREATION AND USE THEREOF
Negative pressure wound therapy sponges that are custom-fabricated to fit a given wound to be treated, corresponding methods of creating said sponges in situ or external to a wound, and related systems for performing negative pressure wound therapy using said sponges. Exemplary sponge embodiments may have pressure-sensing capabilities.
HERNIA REPAIR DEVICE AND METHODS
An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin.
An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.
WOUND DRESSING
The present invention relates to wound dressings. In particular, the invention relates to antimicrobial wound dressings, methods of making the same and uses of the same. The wound dressing of the present invention comprises a wound contact layer and an absorption layer, wherein the wound contact layer comprises at least one antimicrobial agent and wherein the lateral wicking rate of the wound contact layer is the same or higher than the lateral wicking rate of the absorption layer. The wound dressing of the present invention provides an absorbent, conformable and anti-microbial medical device that may be used in a variety of medical situations, including post and/or pre-operative.
Wound care device for debriding wounds
A wound care device for debriding a wound, said device is in the form of a foam pad with two layers of different foams. At one surface of the device is provided a pattern of grooved at the central portion. The grooves improve the ability of removing and collecting debris from a wound during cleaning of such.
Open-cavity, reduced-pressure treatment devices and systems
An open-cavity, reduced-pressure treatment device and system for treating a cavity in a patient's body, such as an abdominal cavity, is presented. In one instance, an open-cavity, reduced-pressure treatment device includes a plurality of encapsulated leg members, each having an interior portion with a leg manifold member and formed with fenestrations operable to allow fluid flow into the interior portion, and a central connection member fluidly coupled to the plurality of encapsulated leg members. The central connection member has a connection manifold member. The open-cavity, reduced-pressure treatment devices, systems, and methods allow for, among other things, removal of fluids.
Foam wound inserts with regions of higher and lower densities, wound dressings, and methods
Foam wound inserts with high-density and low-density regions, methods for making wound inserts, wound-treatment methods, and wound-treatment systems.
SUPPORTER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
In the configuration of a supporter that at least partially includes a tubular cover portion which covers a part of a human body and which elastically expands and contracts, a load addition pattern portion that is adhered to at least a part of a half or more circumference in a circumferential direction on the front surface of the tubular cover portion and that can apply a load of a predetermined magnitude to the part of the human body when the part of the human body to which the tubular cover portion is fitted is moved is continuously formed of an elastic rubber material. Preferably, as the elastic rubber material, a silicone rubber material is used, and a part or the whole of the area of the load addition pattern portion is formed with a mesh-shaped portion and preferably a honeycomb shape.
Wavelength converting therapeutic treatment and associated methods
A wavelength converting bandage including a substrate with an external surface and an internal surface. The wavelength converting bandage includes a plurality of quantum dots, each quantum dot individually sized to emit light within a wavelength range of 613 nm to 846 nm, defined as converted light. The wavelength converting bandage includes at least a portion of the substrate constructed to adhere to skin. The substrate may receive ambient light from the environment on the external surface and may emit converted light toward the skin.
