Embodiments of golf club heads, golf clubs, and methods to manufacture golf club heads and golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club heady ma include a hollow body portion having a toe portion with a toe portion edge, a heel portion with a heel portion edge, a back portion with a back wall portion, a top portion with a top portion edge, a sole portion with a sole portion edge, and a front portion. A face portion may be coupled to the front portion and include a front surface and a back surface. The body portion includes a face support portion including a composite material and coupled to the back surface of the face portion. The face support portion may include at least one reinforcement portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE
A golf club head with an improved Center of Gravity (CG) location is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention relates to a metalwood type golf club head with improved performance via shifting the CG towards a location that reduces spin, at the same time, without sacrificing launch angle and the forgiveness of the golf club head. This golf club head may generally have a unique construction capable of achieving a low and forward CG location that is less than 40 mm from the face center along a Z-axis, a CG height that is no more than 2 mm above the neutral axis, and a MOI-Y of greater than about 4,000 g-cm.sup.2.

A golf club head with an improved Center of Gravity (CG) location is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention relates to a metalwood type golf club head with improved performance via shifting the CG towards a location that reduces spin, at the same time, without sacrificing launch angle and the forgiveness of the golf club head. A golf club head including a club face defined by a toe end, a heel end, a top rail and a sole. The golf club head including a plurality of grooves disposed on the club face between the top rail and the sole. Each groove extends between the toe end and the heel end. Depths of the grooves vary in a direction extending between the top rail and the sole and in a direction extending between the heel end and the toe end. Widths of each of the plurality of grooves vary in a direction extending between the heel end and the toe end.

Embodiments of a golf club head comprising a club head body and a sole mass element are described herein. The club head comprises a center of gravity height measured between a club head center of gravity and at least one keel point. The club head comprises a face surface, wherein the face surface defines a face height. The club head defines a ratio of club head center of gravity height to face height, wherein the ratio is less than or equal to approximately 0.36.

A golf club head (100) includes a face section (1), a crown section (2), a sole section (3), a heel section (4), and a toe section (5). A hollow section separated from the outside is formed inside the golf club head (100). The face section (1) includes, on a back surface, a first thick section (11) disposed at the center in a toe-heel direction going from the toe section (5) to the heel section (4), a second thick section (12) disposed closer to the sole section (3) than the first thick section (11), and a thin section (13) thinner than the first thick section (11) and the second thick section (12) and disposed so as to surround the entire periphery of the first thick section (11) and the entire periphery of the second thick section (12). The first thick section (11) has a first portion (11A) disposed substantially at the center in both the toe-heel direction and a crown-sole direction going from the crown section (2) to the sole section (3) and having a longitudinal direction coincident with the toe-heel direction, and a second portion (11B) protruding from a part at the center of the first portion (11A) in the longitudinal direction toward the crown section (2).

In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion, and an internal mass portion comprising a material having a greater density than a material of the body portion, a height in a top-to-sole direction, a depth in a front-to-back direction, and a width in a toe-to-heel direction. The distance between the internal mass portion and a toe portion edge is substantially less than the distance between the internal mass portion and a heel portion edge. The volume of the internal mass portion increases in a top-to-sole direction, and the height of the internal mass portion is greater than the width of the internal mass portion. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion, and an internal mass portion comprising a material having a greater density than a material of the body portion, a height in a top-to-sole direction, a depth in a front-to-back direction, and a width in a toe-to-heel direction. The distance between the internal mass portion and a toe portion edge is substantially less than the distance between the internal mass portion and a heel portion edge. The volume of the internal mass portion increases in a top-to-sole direction, and the height of the internal mass portion is greater than the width of the internal mass portion. CLUSTER FOR AND METHOD OF CASTING GOLF CLUB HEADS
Disclosed herein is a casting cluster for casting a body of a golf club head made of titanium or a titanium alloy. The casting cluster comprises a receptor and a plurality of runners coupled to the receptor and configured to receive molten metal from the receptor. The casting cluster also includes at least forty main gates. At least two of the main gates are coupled to each of the runners and each main gate is configured to receive molten metal from a corresponding one of the plurality of runners. The casting cluster further comprises at least forty molds. Each mold of the at least forty molds is configured to receive molten metal from a corresponding one of the main gates and to cast a body of an iron-type golf club head.
