PLANT STATE DETECTION SYSTEM AND GAS DETECTOR
The plant state detection system includes a gas detector including a gas detection unit configured to detect gas emitted from the plant, and a server configured to acquire gas information detected by the gas detection unit and detect the state of the plant based on the gas information, wherein the gas detection unit detects one or both of leaf alcohol and leaf aldehyde as gas.
Breath analyte detection device
A breath analyte device includes a breath volume in fluid communication with a sampling volume. The device also includes a sampling sensor configured to generate a breath signal that varies in response to changes in gas pressure (e.g., sound waves) in the breath volume and an analyte sensor configured to generate an analyte signal that varies in response to a concentration of a target analyte present in the sampling volume. A control unit is configured to determine a time at which to measure the concentration of the target analyte in the sampling volume based on the breath signal and measure the concentration of the target analyte in the sampling volume based on the analyte signal at the determined time. The device may also include a pump configured to motivate gas from the breath volume into the sampling volume prior to measuring the concentration of the target analyte.
Multi-sensor breath analyte detection device
A breath analyte device includes a breath volume in fluid communication with a sampling volume. The device also includes a sampling sensor configured to generate a breath signal that varies in response to changes in gas pressure (e.g., sound waves) in the breath volume and one or more analyte sensors configured to generate one or more analyte signals that vary in response to a concentration of one or more target analytes present in the sampling volume. A control unit is configured to determine a time at which to measure the concentration of target analytes in the sampling volume based on the breath signal and measure the concentration of the target analytes based on the analyte signals at the determined time. The device may also include a pump configured to motivate gas from the breath volume into the sampling volume prior to measuring the concentration of the target analytes.
Pathogen Detection Apparatus and Method
Pathogen detection includes providing a sensor having first conductive lines alternated with second conductive lines, the first and second lines being formed over a substrate providing electrical isolation between the first and second lines and being at least partially exposed. Via voltage circuitry, a voltage difference is applied between the first and second lines. A user's breath is applied to the sensor and contacts exposed parts of the first lines simultaneous to exposed parts of the second lines. Pathogens from the user's breath bridge the electrical isolation between an individual first line and an opposing, individual second line and cause a short circuit. Via a comparator or controller, a current is detected flowing in the first and second lines due to the short circuit through the pathogens. A warning module indicates that the comparator or controller detected that the current is above a warning threshold.
INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD, INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM, SCENT IMPARTING APPARATUS, SCENT DETECTING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT APPARATUS
A scent detecting apparatus detects the amount of at least one of a scented substance or a metabolite of the scented substance released from a plant, and transmits detected-amount information indicating the detected amount of at least one of the scented substance or the metabolite to a server apparatus. The server apparatus receives the detected-amount information transmitted by the scent detecting apparatus, estimates the freshness of the plant on the basis of an added amount of the scented substance indicated by stored added-amount information and on the basis of the detected amount of at least one of the scented substance or the metabolite indicated by the received detected-amount information, and transmits freshness information regarding the estimated freshness to the scent detecting apparatus. The scent detecting apparatus receives the freshness information from the server apparatus and presents the received freshness information.
DETECTION OF BIOMARKERS
The invention relates to the detection of biomarkers, and methods, compositions and kits for the detection of such biological markers for diagnosing various conditions, such as cancer. In particular, the invention relates to the detection of compounds as diagnostic and prognostic markers for detecting cancer, such as oesophago-gastric cancer.
DISCRETE SAMPLE INTRODUCTION MODULE (DSIM) FOR GAS ANALYSIS BY LASER ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY
A Discrete Sample Introduction Module (DSIM) apparatus includes an internal tubing system to receive into the DSIM apparatus a discrete gas sample having a received concentration. A plurality of valves selectively partitions the internal tubing system to form a plurality of loops corresponding to a plurality of loop volumes to contain the discrete gas sample. The plurality of loop volumes receives a carrier gas to dilute the discrete gas sample to a plurality of preselected dilutions. The DSIM apparatus circulates a given one of the plurality of preselected dilutions for analysis by a spectrometer coupled to the DSIM apparatus.
Closing element for closing a container for samples for analysis
The invention relates to a closing element for closing a container for samples for analysis, particularly biological samples. The invention also relates to an assembly of a container and a closing element connected to the container. The invention also relates to a device for analysing samples, particularly biological samples, by making use of an assembly according to the invention. In addition, the invention relates to a method for analysing samples, particularly biological samples, by making use of an assembly according to the invention.
DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF INVASIVE ASPERGILLOSIS
Methods for diagnosing, treating, and monitoring the treatment of invasive aspergillosis (IA) are described. The methods can include detecting the presence of one or more volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the breath of subjects suspected of having IA.
Adapter assembly for attachment to a bottle
Various embodiments of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for testing samples (e.g., biological samples, environmental samples, food samples etc.) for microbial contamination. For example, some embodiments describe an adapter assembly with a means to penetrate a septum of a collection vessel and permit gaseous communication between a headspace of the collection vessel and a sensor. In some embodiments, the gases in the headspace of the collection vessel can exit the collection vessel without contaminating the environment outside the system or allowing sample contamination. In some embodiments, the adapter assembly includes a membrane configured to prevent liquid in the collection vessel from contacting the sensor. In some embodiments, the adapter assembly can be used to access media inside the collection vessel for subculturing or aliquotting for another diagnostic process such as molecular diagnostics.
