TANK
A tank includes: a wall separating a liquid storage chamber, which stores a liquid to be supplied to a liquid consuming part, from an outside; an inlet penetrating the wall; and a liquid outflow part which allows the liquid to flow to the outside of the liquid storage chamber. The wall includes a view wall, which extends upward and downward and allows a user to visually check a liquid level in the liquid storage chamber, and a bottom wall, which defines an inner bottom surface of the liquid storage chamber by being connected to the view wall. The inner bottom surface of the bottom wall includes an inclined part which extends from at least a part of the view wall to incline downward in a direction away from the view wall.
LIQUID ABSORBER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A liquid absorber includes a container that has an opening and that recovers liquid and a first absorbing unit that is constituted by an aggregate of porous absorbing body blocks and that is housed in the container such that a gap exists between the porous absorbing body blocks. The porous absorbing body blocks have a density of 0.05 [g/cm.sup.3] or more and 0.50 [g/cm.sup.3] or less.
Method for attenuating the drying of ink from a printhead during periods of printhead inactivity
An inkjet printer is configured with capping stations for storing printheads in the printer during periods of printer inactivity so the viscosity of the ink in the nozzles of the inkjets of the printheads does not increase significantly. Each capping station has a printhead receptacle that encloses a volume, a planar member configured to move between a first position at which the planar member is located within the printhead receptacle and a second position at which the planar member is external of the printhead receptacle, a first actuator operatively connected to the planar member, the first actuator being configured to move the planar member from the first position to the second position, and a controller configured to operate the first actuator to move the planar member from the first position to the second position to mate the planar member with a face of a printhead.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a recording unit that performs recording by ejecting ink onto a medium; a pump unit that sucks a waste liquid discharged from the recording unit in a maintenance of the recording unit; a wall portion; a body in which the recording unit, the pump unit, and the wall portion are provided; and a housing in which the body is housed. The body is provided in the housing in such a way as to be changed in position between a closed position and an open position in a depth direction. The closed position is a position where the body is housed in the housing. The open position is a position where the body protrudes from the housing and where a part of the body is exposed from the housing. The wall portion is provided at a position of hiding at least a part of the pump unit exposed when the body is located at the open position.

IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A determination is made on whether or not a recording medium is held in a state where calibration is executable, and the execution is pending in a case where the recording medium is not held. When the execution is pending, the determination is made again after a predetermined period elapses, and the calibration is executed in a case where the recording medium is held.
Image-Recording Device Having Tank, and First and Second Sensors for Detecting Liquid in the Tank
In an image-recording device, a cartridge has a first chamber, an outlet, and a first air communication portion for air-communication between the first chamber and atmosphere. A mount body includes a tank, first and second sensors. The tank has an inlet, a second chamber, and a second air communication portion for air-communication between the second chamber and atmosphere. Liquid in the first chamber flows into the second chamber. The first sensor outputs a first signal when a level of the liquid in the second chamber is higher than a first position, and outputs a second signal when the level is lower than the first position. The second sensor outputs a third signal when the level is higher than a second position which is higher than both the first position and the inlet, and outputs the fourth signal when the level is lower than the second position.
Image-Recording Device Issuing Notification Concerning Quantity of Liquid in Tank
In an image-recording device, a cartridge has a first chamber and a outlet. A mount body includes a tank, first and second sensors. The tank has an inlet, and a second chamber. The liquid in the first chamber flows into the second chamber via the outlet and the inlet. The first sensor outputs a first signal when a level of the liquid in the second chamber is higher than a first position, and outputs a second signal when the level is lower than the first position. The second sensor outputs a third signal when the level is higher than a second position higher than the first position, and outputs the fourth signal when the level is lower than the second position. A controller controls a notification device to issue a notification if a condition based on the first and second signals is satisfied.
