CATALYST AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIENE COMPOUND
A catalyst includes at least one element X selected from the group consisting of Groups 3 to 6 of the Periodic Table, and at least one element Z selected from the group consisting of Group 14 elements. The catalyst is flaky and has pores in a thickness direction. A catalyst that is capable of suppressing an overreaction to a polymer and producing a diene compound, particularly butadiene, at a high yield can be provided.
Catalyst particles and methods for making same
Catalyst particles and methods for making same are disclosed herein. The catalyst particles can include a ceramic support containing silica and alumina. The ceramic support can have a macropore concentration of about 15% to about 45%, a mesopore concentration of about 20% to 50%, and a micropore concentration of about 8% to about 30% based on the total pore volume of the ceramic support. The ceramic support can also have a surface area of about 0.5 m.sup.2/g to about 50 m.sup.2/g. The catalyst particles can have a long term permeability at 7,500 psi of at least about 10 D in accordance with ISO 13503-5.
Supported catalyst for organic substance decomposition and organic substance decomposition device
A supported catalyst for decomposing an organic substance that includes a support and a catalyst particle supported on the support. The catalyst particle contains a perovskite-type composite oxide represented by A.sub.xB.sub.yM.sub.zO.sub.w, where the A contains at least one selected from Ba and Sr, the B contains Zr, the M is at least one selected from Mn, Co, Ni and Fe, y+z=1, x≥0.995, z≤0.4, and w is a positive value satisfying electrical neutrality. A film thickness of a catalyst-supporting film supported on the support and containing the catalyst particle is 5 μm or more, or a supported amount as determined by normalizing a mass of the catalyst particle supported on the support by a volume of the support is 45 g/L or more.

High metals content hydrolysis catalyst for use in the catalytic reduction of sulfur contained in a gas stream, and a method of making and using such composition
Disclosed is a composition useful in the hydrolysis of sulfur compounds that are contained in a gas stream. The composition comprises a calcined co-mulled mixture of psuedoboehmite, a cobalt compound, and a molybdenum compound such that the composition comprises gamma-alumina, at least 7.5 wt. % molybdenum, and at least 2.75 wt. % cobalt. The composition is made by forming into an agglomerate a co-mulled mixture pseudoboehmite, a cobalt component, and a molybdenum component followed by drying and calcining the agglomerate to provide a catalyst composition comprising gamma-alumina, at least 7.5 wt. % molybdenum, and at least 2.75 wt. % cobalt.

Gas sensor using metal oxide semiconducting nanofiber sensitized by alkali or alkaline earth metal and noble metal catalysts, and manufacturing method thereof
A member for a metal oxide nanofiber based gas sensor can include a metal nanoparticle catalyst and can be formed to be functionalized by binding the metal nanoparticle catalyst and an alkali or alkaline earth metal through electrospinning and heat treatment processes. The member can detect a trace amount of a gas with high selectivity and ultra-high sensitivity by uniformly binding the alkali or alkaline earth metal and the metal nanoparticle catalyst through electrospinning and high-temperature heat treatment.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION FILTER
An exhaust gas purification filter comprises a base material part, a catalyst layer, and sealing parts. The base material part comprises porous partition walls. The catalyst layer is supported on pore walls of the partition walls. The partition walls supporting the catalyst layer comprise 10% or less of pores having a pore diameter of 50 μm or more. In the pore diameter distribution in the partition walls supporting the catalyst layer, the pore diameter D50 at which the cumulative pore volume becomes 50% is 10 μm or more. The pore diameter D50, and the pore diameter D10 at which the cumulative pore volume becomes 10%, satisfy the relationship of the following Expression 1.

EBULLATED BED PROCESS FOR HIGH CONVERSION OF HEAVY HYDROCARBONS WITH A LOW SEDIMENT YIELD
An ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks that provides for high conversion of the heavy hydrocarbon with a low sediment yield. The process uses for its catalyst bed small particles of a specifically defined shaped hydroprocessing catalyst which is contacted with the heavy hydrocarbon feedstock under hydroconversion conditions and yields a hydrocarbon conversion having a relatively low sediment content.
