11455043 · 2022-09-27 · ·

A method and system for enacting a change of operating modalities of a transportation vehicle. The method includes at least one display device, which at least partially includes a screen, operated in the transportation vehicle. The at least one display device has at least two operating modes for operator control by a user. A triggering signal to the at least one display device is automatically provided. The triggering signal is triggered by at least one trigger event, is provided directly or indirectly by the transportation vehicle, and triggers a change from a first operating mode to a second operating mode. The change is at least partially indicated to the user by at least one operator alerting signal.

VEHICLE WINDOW OR PANEL COVERING WITH SERVICE LEVEL INDICATOR

A service level indicator system for a vehicle includes one or more sensor that provides one or more of a battery charge level, fuel fill level, oil fill level, and tire pressure level to a control system that instructs the actuation of at least one of a sun visor, shade, and tonneau cover is positioned to generate a message that is readily understood by the vehicle's operator but is ambiguous to other viewers. These components require no power after actuation and do not draw attention to any message they transmit. The position can identify the level that is deficient, and the degree of the deficiency using one or a plurality of the vehicle's components. The entire message is viewable from at least the driver's side of the vehicle and can be at least partially received from any angle of approach to the vehicle.

DISPLAY CONTROLLER, DISPLAY DEVICE, DISPLAY SYSTEM, MOBILE OBJECT, IMAGE GENERATION METHOD, AND CARRIER MEANS

A display controller (20) includes an information acquisition unit configured to obtain input data of attentional resources of an occupant of a mobile object such as traveling time, occupant status information, driving environment information or display image history and a display-image generation unit configured to generate, in a mode determined based on the input data, a display image to be displayed by a display device (10) provided for the mobile object. The mobile object is for instance a vehicle comprising a head-up display.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION SUPPRESSION DEVICE FOR DRIVING AUTOMATION

A method, system and non-transitory computer readable medium for suppressing autonomous vehicle external human machine interface (eHMI) notifications to prevent confusion or distraction of a road user. The suppression conditions are based on situations where the eHMI notification is redundant, not necessary, can be simplified or should be modified due to weather or light intensity. The eHMI notifications can be suppressed on selected displays and enhanced on others. The eHMI notifications can include text and icons, flashing lights, color or light patterns, which can be modified or suppressed based on the determination that the eHMI notification will confuse or distract the road user. At a four-way stop intersection, the eHMI notification can be suppressed until the autonomous vehicle has the right-of-way. The autonomous vehicle can form a mesh network with connected vehicles at the intersection and broadcast a group eHMI while requesting that the connected vehicles suppress their eHMIs.

Vehicle and Information Output Method Therefor

An information output method includes determining, when a first condition is satisfied, whether a second or a third condition related to a pop-up in a first form from a time point of ignition off is satisfied, and setting at least one first pop-up request corresponding to the pop-up in the first form to a second pop-up request corresponding to a pop-up in a second form output during ignition on when the second condition or the third condition is satisfied, wherein whether the second condition is satisfied is determined in consideration of a number of first pop-up requests expected at the time point of ignition off, and whether the third condition is satisfied is determined in consideration of the number of first pop-up requests which are not displayed as pop-ups in the first form after ignition off from previously generated first pop-up requests.

APPARATUS, METHOD, AND VEHICLE FOR PROVIDING BRAKING LEVEL OF FORWARD VEHICLE
20210370829 · 2021-12-02 ·

An apparatus, method, and vehicle for providing a braking level of a forward vehicle may quantify a degree of braking of the forward vehicle into a braking level and provide the braking level of the forward vehicle to a driver. The apparatus includes a brake lamp position recognizing device configured to recognize positions of brake lamps of the forward vehicle based on an image and a relative acceleration of the forward vehicle, a braking determining device configured to determine whether or not braking of the forward vehicle is performed based on a brake lamp image extracted from the image of the forward vehicle, a braking level determining device configured to determine a braking level of the forward vehicle based on the relative acceleration of the forward vehicle, and a braking level image providing device configured to provide the determined braking level of the forward vehicle through an image.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INFLUENCING AN OPTICAL OUTPUT OF IMAGE DATA ON AN OUTPUT DEVICE IN A VEHICLE

A method and a system for influencing an optical output of image data on an output device in a vehicle. A viewing direction of a driver of the vehicle is determined. If the determined viewing direction is directed to the output device, the optical output of the image data is faded down with an average fading out rate DOWN. The fading out rate DOWN defines a temporal decrease in the optical perceptibility of the output image data by a human. If the determined viewing direction is directed towards the output device and is directed away from the output device, the optical output of the image data is faded up with an average fading in rate UP. The fading in rate UP defines a temporal increase of the optical perceptibility of the output image data by a human.

VEHICLE DISPLAY DEVICE

A vehicle display device includes a theme-specific related information storage unit that stores videos related to destinations and a display that reads a related video from the theme-specific related information storage unit and displaying the related video for a corresponding one of the destinations. The vehicle display device thus allows users in a vehicle to maintain excitement until a vehicle arrives in the destination.

AUTOMATIC DRIVING VEHICLE
