A railroad monitoring system according to the present disclosure includes a cable (20) including a communication optical fiber being laid on a railroad (10), a reception unit (331) configured to receive an optical signal from at least one communication optical fiber included in the cable (20), and a detection unit (332) configured to detect a pattern according to a state of the railroad (10), based on the optical signal, and detect an abnormal state of the railroad (10), based on the detected pattern according to the state of the railroad (10).
Systems and methods for auditing assets
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving first Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data associated with a railroad environment, extracting an asset from the first LiDAR data associated with the railroad environment, and superimposing the asset into a spatial model. The method also includes receiving a field indication associated with a modification to the railroad environment and modifying the spatial model in response to receiving the field indication associated with the modification to the railroad environment. The method further includes receiving second LiDAR data associated with the railroad environment and comparing the second LiDAR data to the modified spatial model.
Anti-Collision Device and System for Use with a Railcar
An anti-collision system for railcars and locomotives provides a distance ranging and worker coupling protection system utilizing remote-sensing radar techniques for use with a locomotive and railcar. The anti-collision system may include an object detector device attached to a railcar or a locomotive that detects objects in a path of the railcar and the locomotive and a train display device electrically connected to the object detector device. The anti-collision system may also include an emergency action device which enables a crew member to stop the railcar or locomotive without communication to a locomotive operator when a hazard is recognized. The object detector device may include a remote sensor, a radio, and a microprocessor programmed to include data-logging to record and log all data from the anti-collision system.
MONITORING AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE OF A VEHICLE
A vehicle monitoring device includes a camera or other optical sensor configured to be disposed at a trailing end of a first vehicle system. The camera or other optical sensor is configured to output one or more images or video of a field of view behind the first vehicle system. The monitoring device also includes a controller configured to receive output from one or more sensors and to activate the camera or other optical sensor to output the one or more images or video based on the output from the one or more sensors. The output from the one or more sensors indicates one or more of a change in movement of the first vehicle system, a temperature, an acoustic sound, or movement of a second vehicle system.
Unmanned Rail Vehicle And Method Of Determining Its Position
An unmanned rail vehicle for surveillance, inspection and/or maintenance of an infrastructure, the infrastructure including a rail structure with a rail, the unmanned rail vehicle being movable along the rail and the unmanned rail vehicle including a first position sensor system configured for measuring, by interaction with the rail structure, first position data indicative of a position of the unmanned rail vehicle along the rail, a second position sensor system configured for measuring, by interaction with the rail structure, second position data indicative of a position of the unmanned rail vehicle along the rail, a position determining unit configured for receiving and combining first and second position data to determine the position of the unmanned rail vehicle along the rail.
RAIL POSITION MEASUREMENT DEVICE
A rail position measurement device that measures a three-dimensional position of a rail using a measurement vehicle includes: a position posture measurement device to measure a position and a posture of the measurement vehicle; and a laser scanner that is a sensor installed on the measurement vehicle so as to be capable of irradiating at least a web and a bottom of a side surface of the rail with laser light and used for measuring the three-dimensional position of the rail.
Vehicle control system
The present invention is provided with: a sensing unit which is provided in a vehicle and measures the three-dimensional shape of an object; a matching unit for performing matching between multiple sets of structure information, in which are associated a data group indicating the three-dimensional shapes of structures provided beforehand near a path the vehicle will travel along and positional information indicating the posit ions of the structures, and a data group indicating the three-dimensional shape of the object measured by the sensing unit, and for specifying the position of the object; and an estimated position determination unit for determining, with the position specified by the matching unit as a reference position, the estimated position of the vehicle on the basis of the reference position.
