Display device and adjustment method

A display device used in a vehicle for displaying virtual images includes: a display including a light source to emit image light and a screen on which the image light is projected; and a controller to adjust positions at which the virtual images are displayed. Images displayed on the screen are projected as the virtual images. The virtual images include first and second virtual images displayed at different positions. The display displays, on the screen, a first adjustment image that is projected to a display area of the first virtual image and a second adjustment image that is projected to a display area of the second virtual image. The controller adjusts a position of the display area of the first virtual image and a position of the display area of the second virtual image on a basis of the first adjustment image and the second adjustment image.

VEHICLE DISPLAY ENHANCEMENT

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to vehicle display enhancement. For example, a vehicle may receive data associated with a user of a vehicle, wherein the data is associated with eyewear worn by the user or information associated with a user profile. The device may identify a first object in a field of vision of the user while the user is situated in the vehicle. The device may apply first enhancement to the first object based on the data. The device may display the first enhancement on a display device of the vehicle.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY CALIBRATION

Calibrating a virtual image projected from a vehicle HUD system onto a windshield includes displaying a fiducial at a predetermined location upon the windshield, projecting a test image from a test image generator within the HUD system, aligning the test image with the fiducial, determining a positional deviation from a test image calibrated position required to align the test image with the fiducial, and based upon the positional deviation and a known positional relationship between a virtual image calibrated position and the test image calibrated position, aligning the virtual image with the fiducial.

Head-up display calibration

A HUD apparatus for a vehicle includes a HUD patch defined upon a reflective surface of a windshield of the vehicle. A virtual image generator projects a virtual image within the HUD patch. An image sensor is coaligned with the virtual image generator and has a field of view including the HUD patch. A controller is configured to receive, from the image sensor, a HUD patch image, and to adjust the projected virtual image based upon the HUD patch image.

AR MOBILITY AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING AR MOBILITY

A method of controlling augmented reality (AR) mobility according to embodiments may include generating, by a camera, image data by photographing one or more users, extracting information about the one or more users from the image data, calculating a reference point for projection of an AR object based on the location information about the users, and displaying the AR object on a display based on the calculated reference point. An apparatus for controlling AR mobility according to embodiments may include a camera configured to generate image data by photographing one or more users, a controller configured to extract information about the one or more users from the image data, a calibrator configured to calculate a reference point for projection of an AR object based on the location information about the users, and a display configured to display the AR object on a display based on the calculated reference point.

An inspection device for inspecting a virtual image for a head-up display device, includes a windshield; a display unit for generating an image and projecting the image onto the windshield without using a concave mirror; an imaging unit for capturing a virtual image of the image; a storage unit for storing data of a shape of the windshield and a relative position between the windshield, the display unit, and the imaging unit; an imaging unit position control unit for moving the imaging unit to a predetermined position; a display control unit for calculating an image distortion correction due to the concave mirror, based on the data corresponding to a position of the imaging unit after moving, and for controlling the display unit to generate the image taking into account the image distortion correction; and an image inspection unit for inspecting a distortion of the virtual image.

Display control device

Disclosed is a display control device mounted in a vehicle and including: an irradiation control unit for controlling an irradiating unit that irradiates a road surface with reference light; and a projection control unit for controlling a projecting unit that projects an image onto a reflecting unit that reflects the image, in which the irradiation control unit instructs the irradiating unit to perform irradiation with the reference light, the irradiation corresponding to set irradiation distance information, and the projection control unit instructs the projecting unit to perform projection of an image in such a way that a virtual image corresponding to the irradiation distance information is visually recognized by an occupant of the vehicle, and also controls either a projection position or a projection size of the image projected by the projecting unit on the basis of an instruction of the occupant.
