TRAIN CONTROL APPARATUS AND TRAIN CONTROL METHOD

A train control apparatus includes a setting reception unit that receives setting information regarding a temporary speed limit section and a speed limit. A control unit generates temporary speed limit information for the trains. A communication unit transmits the temporary speed limit information to the trains. If information regarding all temporary speed limit sections cannot be included in the temporary speed limit information, the control unit includes, in the temporary speed limit information, information regarding a specified number of temporary speed limit sections located on a traveling direction side, and changes a speed limit in one or more temporary speed limit sections included in the temporary speed limit information on the basis of a speed limit set in a temporary speed limit section that is adjacent to a temporary speed limit section included in the temporary speed limit information, and is not included in the temporary speed limit information.

A course control device includes: an information acquisition unit to acquire information via any of wireless devices arranged along a track from a first station to a second station; and a course control unit to control the course of a course control target train based on the information acquired by the information acquisition unit. The course control unit prevents the course control target train from proceeding to the course in at least one of a case where at least one of the wireless devices is in a failure state, a case where an on-board device that is mounted in a preceding train preceding the course control target train on the track and controls the preceding train based on information acquired via the wireless devices is in a failure state, and a case where the preceding train is in a stationary state between the first station and the second station.

Exclusive track resource sharing system

A system for exclusive track resource sharing is provided. Some embodiments provide an exclusive track resource sharing system including onboard control units and a resource manager. Onboard control unit is provided in each of trains and is configured to communicate with another onboard control unit in another train. The resource manager is configured to record ownership status information of track resources of the plurality of trains, to provide the ownership status information of the track resources to the onboard control unit, and to generate and deliver a resource entitlement or resource authority to the onboard control unit. The resource authority is configured to be owned by a single onboard control unit. The onboard control unit possessing the resource authority is configured to seize or release the track resources corresponding to the resource authority and to control the track resources corresponding to the resource authority.

INSPECTION OF RAIL HEALTH
20220135094 · 2022-05-05 ·

A method and system for inspecting a rail by guided waves, the rail being instrumented by sensors. The method comprises the steps of receiving elastic wave measurements from one or more sensors, as a train passes, releasing energy as guided waves into the rail; and of determining a function representative of the impulse response of the rail and the sensors. Developments describe how to determine the existence, position and characterisation of a defect in the rail (e.g. fracture, incipient fracture, etc.), the use of inter-correlation analyses, correlation of the coda of correlations, Passive Inverse Filter, imaging techniques. Other aspects are described for exploring rail defects: sensor position and movement, acquisition time, sampling frequency, frequency filters, amplifications, techniques for learning during successive train passes, signal injection by transducers. Software aspects are described.

TACS BASED METHOD FOR TRAIN INTERVAL PROTECTION CONTROL, AND APPARATUS FOR METHOD
20230249727 · 2023-08-10 ·

The present disclosure relates to a train autonomous control system (TACS) based method for train interval protection control, and an apparatus for the method. The method includes: step one: receiving, by a carborne controller (CC), a train operation command sent by an automatic train supervision (ATS) system to obtain a movement mission; step two: calculating, by the CC, a train guaranteed zone in real time according to information of train localization, car characteristics, and carborne controller characteristics; step three: calculating, by the CC, track resources required to be used in combination with current mission information according to the train guaranteed zone, and requesting to a wayside information control (WSIC) for information of collided trains occupying these track resources; and step four: sending, by the WSIC, a list of the collided trains on the track resources required to be used to the CC according to information of the track resources required to be occupied by a train on a whole line. Compared to the prior art, the present disclosure has the advantages of high operation efficiency, communication resource saving, reliability, safety, etc.

VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD

A vehicle control system includes a controller that detects a communication loss between a first vehicle and a second vehicle and/or a monitoring device in a vehicle system. The controller operationally restricts movement of the vehicle system based on the communication loss. The controller obtains or generates a transitional plan that designates operational settings for the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle based at least in part on a location of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle. The controller selectively changes movement of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle via the transitional plan to reduce a speed of the first vehicle and/or the second vehicle responsive to the communication loss being detected.
