Certain configurations are described of methods, systems and devices that can be used to assist in mounting a vehicle safety device in an automobile, truck, train or other vehicle. In some examples, an augmented reality device designed to permit viewing of a virtual template on a windshield or a bumper can be used to mount or align a safety device to the windshield. In some instances, the virtual template may comprise one or more virtual alignment indicators or markings that facilitate mounting of the vehicle safety device in a selected position or to the windshield.

A heads-up display (HUD) system is disclosed in various embodiments. The HUD system includes a window plate defining an opening to enable light emitting from HUD components to pass therethrough. The window plate includes an inner trough wall and an outer trough wall that cooperate to define a trough therebetween that at least partially surrounds the opening. A transparent cover is attached to the window plate and covers the opening. The cover has a perimeter and an overhang portion located along at least a portion of the perimeter. The opening has a center and the overhang portion extends further from the center than the inner trough wall to facilitate liquid traveling across the cover to enter the trough and inhibit the liquid from entering an interface between the cover and the window plate. The outer trough wall can have a raised profile relative to the cover to protect the cover.

Provided is a head-up display with enhanced manufacturability when attaching a translucent sheet. This head-up display is provided with: a display device for outputting display light; a translucent sheet that is translucent and comprises a sheet having a sheet peripheral edge; a case that accommodates the display device and has an opening that is covered by the translucent sheet and through which the display light is emitted outside through the translucent sheet, and a sheet holding part that is at an opening peripheral edge and holds the sheet peripheral edge; and a fixing frame that covers the sheet peripheral edge and fixes the translucent sheet to the sheet holding part.

Brackets for mounting a center stack module in an instrument panel

A bracket for mounting center stack modules in an instrument panel assembly of a vehicle is provided. The bracket comprises a first bracket half and a second bracket half, each extending substantially at a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and spaced apart laterally. Each of the first and second bracket halves comprises a first end, a second end and a body between the first end and second end. The first end is connected to a cross car beam, and the second end is connected to the center stack module. The body includes a deformable element collapsible by an impact force. Further, the first bracket half includes a first main surface and the second bracket half includes a second main surface which are substantially perpendicular to a floor of the vehicle.

DISPLAY MODULE

A display module for use as a front dashboard, a center console, a passenger entertainment display, or an instrument panel is described. The display module includes a display assembly that is joined to a cover lens via an optically clear adhesive layer. The display assembly is arranged as a flat planar device, and the cover lens is arranged as a curved planar surface that includes an inner laminate sheet that is joined to an outer laminate sheet via a second adhesive layer.
