SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USER INTERFACES IN A VEHICULAR ENVIRONMENT

Examples are disclosed for systems and methods for user interfaces of a vehicular environment, especially for autonomous vehicles wherein an orientation or attention of the vehicle occupants is not constrained to a direction of motion. In one embodiment, a system for providing visualizations within a vehicular environment comprises at least one touch-sensitive display device positioned adjacent to at least one seat within the vehicular environment and configured to display the visualizations to an occupant of the at least one seat, the at least one touch-sensitive display device moveable from a first position in front of the seat to a second position at an interior wall of the vehicular environment.

Combiner head up display with separate infrared function

A head up display arrangement is for a motor vehicle having a human occupant. A light source emits a light field. An infrared camera detects infrared energy. A combiner is positioned and configured to reflect the light field such that the light field can be viewed by the human occupant as a virtual image. The combiner has a region configured to reflect infra-red energy emitted by a face of the occupant such that the infrared energy is received by the infrared camera.

Image display apparatus for vehicle

An image display apparatus 100 for a vehicle is provided with: an image display unit 2 that has a light source and a display element and outputs image light; a mirror 3 that reflects the image light output by the image display unit 2 toward a windshield 7; a mirror drive unit 4 that changes the angle and position of the mirror 3; and a control unit 10 that determines amounts of change in the angle and position of the mirror and controls the mirror drive unit 4. The control unit 10 makes determinations of the amount of change for the angle and position of the mirror in association with each other such that the image is visible even if the position of the driver's eyes 8 changes and the display state of the image with respect to the driver does not change.

DISPLAY SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A display system for a vehicle may include a display having a screen configured to display an image, and a mounting mechanism coupled to a rear surface of the display. The mounting mechanism may include an actuator pivotally coupled to the rear surface of the display at a first point and configured to extend and retract relative to an interior surface of the vehicle. The mounting mechanism may also include a link having a first end pivotally coupled to the rear surface of the display at a second point spaced from the first point, and a second end configured to be pivotally coupled to the vehicle, the first and second points defining an axis. The mounting mechanism may be configured to reorient the display between a first orientation and a second orientation, such that the axis defined by the first and second points pivots relative to the interior surface of the vehicle.
