In an example, a method for accelerated conditioning of a composite core sandwich coupon is described. The method includes setting a first temperature and a first relative humidity level of the conditioning apparatus, wherein a combination of the first temperature and the first relative humidity level correspond to a desired relative humidity level of the plurality of cells of the core layer at room temperature. The method includes maintaining the first temperature and the first relative humidity for a first period, wherein during the first period a core humidity of the plurality of cells in the core layer approaches the first relative humidity level. The method includes determining that the core humidity has reached the first relative humidity level. The method includes, based on determining that the core humidity has reached the first relative humidity level, adjusting the first temperature to a second temperature.

The fuel cell assembly includes at least one electrochemical fuel cell having an anode compartment and a cathode compartment each having a feed opening for introducing reactants and a discharge opening for discharging waste products of the fuel cell assembly. The fuel cell assembly is operated in the test space, and a fuel gas and an oxidation gas is fed to the fuel cell assembly as reactants. The test space is supplied with conditioned supply air and exhaust air is discharged from the test space by an air conditioning and ventilation system. An oxygen concentration is determined using a sensor and a controller controls the oxygen concentration.
PROCESS FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTION OF SELF-PIERCING RIVET (SPR) JOINTS
A system and method for inspecting an assembly including components joined by self-piercing rivets by a computerized tomography (CT) scan of the joint is provided. The system includes a source of x-rays, a mounting unit for an assembly including the joint which is subject to the x-rays, and an x-ray detector disposed opposite the source for detecting the x-rays. The x-rays are provided at a high energy level of at least 200 kV to generate images having a resolution of at least 200 micrometers (μm). A computer stitches the images together to form reconstructive images which show details of the joint. The assembly to be inspected is not destroyed or modified prior to the inspection process. The resolution of the images generated by the x-rays is high enough to determine the presence of cracks, if any, the interlock (S.sub.H), minimum thickness (T.sub.min), and overall structure of the unmodified assembly.
Systems and methods for evaluating a structural health of composite components by correlating positions of displaced nanoparticles
Systems and methods for determining a damage value of one or more composite components and/or a vehicle using digital image correlation are disclosed. Digital image correlation is used to evaluate a displacement of one or more nanoparticles that are deposited on and/or embedded within the composite component. Digital image correlation is performed by identifying a first reference entry indicating a reference position of the one or more nanoparticles and correlating the first reference entry with sensor data of the composite component indicating a position of the one or more nanoparticles. The damage value of the composite component is determined based on the digital image correlation between the sensor data and the first reference entry.
TIRE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE PROBE
This tire electrical resistance measurement device is provided with an inner circumferential-side probe and an outer circumferential-side probe. The inner circumferential-side probe is disposed on the inner circumferential side of a tire and is capable of coming into contact with the inner circumference of the tire. The outer circumferential-side probe is disposed on the outer circumferential side of the tire and is capable of coming into contact with a tread portion of the tire by moving relative to the tire in a radial direction of the tire. The outer circumferential-side probe extends in the width direction of the tire and is deformable in the radial direction so as to follow a protrusion-recess shape of the tread portion in the width direction. The outer circumferential-side probe is electrically conductive at least at a contact surface that comes into contact with the tread portion.
Rivet measurement system
A method, system, and apparatus for a rivet measurement system for non-destructive testing measurements comprising a first measurement apparatus, a second measurement apparatus and a rivet analyzer. The first measurement apparatus acquires non-destructive testing measurements for sample production grade rivets of a particular class installed in a production vehicle structure. The second measurement apparatus acquires destructive testing measurements for the sample production grade rivets of the particular class. The rivet analyzer creates a statistical model representing a relationship between the non-destructive testing measurements and destructive testing measurements of the production grade rivets and to acquire the non-destructive testing measurements for the button height and the button diameter for additional production grade rivets, predict rivet button concentricity from the non-destructive testing measurements for the button height and the button diameter using the statistical model and determine whether the additional production grade rivets installed in the production vehicle structure are acceptable.
