Embodiments of a curved vehicle display including a display module having a display surface, a curved glass substrate disposed on the display surface having a first major surface, a second major surface having a second surface area, and a thickness in a range from 0.05 mm to 2 mm, wherein the second major surface comprises a first radius of curvature of 200 mm or greater, wherein, when the display module emits a light, the light transmitted through the glass substrate has a substantially uniform color along 75% or more of the second surface area, when viewed at a viewing angle at a distance of 0.5 meters from the second surface. Methods of forming a curved vehicle display are also disclosed.

GHOST IMAGE MITIGATION FOR HEADS-UP DISPLAY

Embodiments of the present disclosure set forth techniques for mitigating ghost images in a heads-up display. A computer-implemented method includes generating content for display on a heads-up display system, inserting into the content a version of a display element, wherein the version of the display element comprises one or more visual characteristics configured to reduce a perceivability of a ghost image of the display element, and causing the content, including the version of the display element, to be displayed by the heads-up display system.

A trim component, such as a grill of a vehicle, includes a substrate having a 3-dimensional shape and defining a disrupted reflective surface including a plurality of facets over a curved surface. Each of the facets is configured to reflect an incident light beam in a common direction, for example, toward a given target. A reflective coating, such as a chrome plating layer, overlies the disrupted reflective surface. The facets may have similar shapes and/or be arranged in a repeating pattern, but with one or more irregular features. The sizes, shapes, and/or orientation direction of the facets may varying in a gradient based on the curvature of the curved surface. The trim component also includes a light source to illuminate the disrupted reflective surface. The light source may be hidden so it is not directly visible to a viewer, but instead is reflected by the disrupted reflective surface.

Vehicle dashboard

A vehicle dashboard instrument display for displaying vehicle operating information to a driver includes a lens system adjacent the instruments and interposed between the driver and the instruments. The lens system includes a variable focus lens operable for, responsive to input from a lens controller, adjusting to a focal length suitable for countering the visual impairment of the driver to render the instruments more easily readable by the driver.

A dynamic touch user interface system includes a touch-input interface, one or more visual indicators, and a plurality of sensors. The touch-input interface has a reference surface that covers one or more touch elements. The touch elements define an active area that allows user communication with a computer through touch. The active area is relocatable along the reference surface in response to detected circumstances. The visual indicators visually identify a location of the active area. The sensors detect the circumstances affecting a relocation of the active area.

A vision system of a vehicle includes a camera module configured to be disposed at and behind a vehicle windshield, with the camera module including a first camera and a second camera. The first camera includes a first imager and a first lens having a wide angle field of view greater than 100 degrees. The first camera is operable to capture image data for processing by an image processor. The second camera includes a second imager and a second lens having a narrow angle field of view less than 40 degrees. The second camera is operable to capture image data for displaying color images at a display screen. Image data captured by the first camera is processed to detect objects, and image data captured by the first camera is not video procesed for display of video images. The vision system switches between daytime mode and nighttime mode responsive to ambient light.
