Non-stop train with attaching and detaching train cars
A non-stop train system including a plurality of train cars in communication with one another and in communication with an electronic control module. The train system includes a track or any number of parallel tracks having a plurality of drop off and pick up locations. A prepositioned train car is stopped at one of the drop off and pick up locations. A non-stop express train approaches and passes by the drop off and pick up location on the track initiating the prepositioned train car to begin departure. The electronic control module is used to adjust the speed of the non-stop express train and the prepositioned train car based on a detected distance such that a rear coupler of the non-stop express train couples to the front coupler of the prepositioned train car while moving along the track.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR WORKER PROTECTION SYSTEM WITH ULTRA-WIDEBAND (UWB) BASED ANCHOR NETWORK
Systems and methods are provided for worker protection system with ultra-wideband (UWB) based anchors. One or more wayside units placed on or near a track may be configured to form a work zone network, based on ultra-wideband (UWB) communications, corresponding to a work zone in an area surrounding or in proximity to the one or more wayside units. When the work zone network is formed, at least one wayside unit of the one or more wayside units may be configured to obtain ranging information to a train traversing the track, based on communications of UWB signals with at least one train-mounted unit deployed on the train, and the one or more wayside units are configured to generate, based on the ranging information, notifications relating to the train and/or the work zone.

A vehicle control system is provided and may include a sensor that may measure an acceleration and a displacement of a vehicle during movement of the vehicle. The system may include one or more processors that can examine the acceleration and the displacement to identify an abnormal condition of the vehicle that includes an instability condition and/or a derailment condition of the vehicle. The processors may identify the instability condition responsive to the acceleration that is measured being no greater than an acceleration threshold and the displacement that is measured being no greater than a displacement threshold. The processors may identify the derailment condition responsive to the acceleration that is measured being greater than the acceleration threshold and the displacement that is measured being greater than the displacement threshold.

A cyber security system for providing security to a railway, the system comprising: a data monitoring and processing hub; a network comprising a plurality of data collection agents synchronized to a same network clock and configured to monitor railway infrastructure devices and onboard devices of rolling stock having a train communication network (TCN), and forward monitored data to the hub for processing by the hub to detect anomalies in railway operation that are indicative of a cyber-attack; at least one anonymizer configured to scrub information items from data that the hub receives from a data collection agent of the plurality of data collection agents which may be used to identify the cyber security system or the railway for which the system provides security.

A method may include detecting a first pressure and a second pressure of a fluid in a brake pipe of a vehicle system that includes a plurality of vehicles and extends from a lead vehicle to an end vehicle. The method may further include determining a pressure differential signature between the first pressure and the second pressure and evaluating the pressure differential signature with a machine learning model to determine whether a blockage or a leak exists in the brake pipe. A system may include one or more processors configured to detect a first pressure and a second pressure of a fluid in a brake pipe. A method includes generating movement signals indicative of sensed movement of a powered system in one or more directions and generating fluid level signals indicative of a sensed amount of fluid in the powered system. The method also includes, with one or more processors, receiving the movement signals and the fluid level signals from one or more accelerometers and a fluid level sensor, wherein the one or more processors also configured to filter at least some of the movement signals based on a speed at which the powered system operates. The velocity and the acceleration of the rail vehicle are calculated from the measurement data as properties of the rail vehicle by arithmetic measures. A time of closure is specified for triggering a closure of the railroad crossing as a function of the calculated properties of the rail vehicle. The velocity and the acceleration are calculated from the measurement data of the axle counter. The time of closure of the railroad crossing is specified with reference to the calculated velocity and the calculated acceleration as the rail vehicle is leaving the axle counter. An apparatus for operating a railroad crossing, a computer program product and a delivery apparatus for the computer program product are also provided.
