An operating system for a motor vehicle includes: a display device for displaying an operating area, and an operating unit which has a sensor device for detecting the approach and the position of at least one finger of a user to the operating unit. In this case, if the sensor device detects that two or more fingers are undershooting a specifiable minimum distance from the operating unit and are carrying out a first specifiable motion, an additional operating area is displayed in addition or alternatively to the operating area.

VEHICLE COMPUTING SYSTEM TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE SAFETY WARNING

A vehicle computing system may provide a vehicle safety warning in a vehicle, using a vehicle processor and a three dimensional accelerometer of the vehicle. A touch display may display windows with different vibrations to provide the vehicle safety warning. A vibration may vary in relation to data from the three dimensional accelerometer based on motion of the vehicle.

DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

Display control systems, methods, and programs obtain an indicated location indicated by a pointer, based on an output from a pointing device, and display, on a display, a user interface screen that displays icons at predetermined locations and displays the pointer indicating the indicated location. The systems methods, and programs draw, when the indicated location is present in a draw-in region including one of the icons, the indicated location into the icon. The systems methods, and programs set, when a first icon and a second icon for performing operations related to a same function are arranged side by side on the display, a first draw-in region including the first icon and a second draw-in region including the second icon such that the first draw-in region and the second draw-in region are present in a region between the first icon and the second icon and adjacent to each other.

SEARCHING DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEMS OF A VEHICLE
20220229834 · 2022-07-21 ·

A driver information system for a vehicle, having a display device by means of which a graphical user interface can be displayed. The graphical user interface includes links to services, and the services can be displayed on the display device when an associated link is actuated. The driver information system (includes a main search function that is configured to determine, according to a search input, search results both of the graphical user interface and of the services. A method for searching a driver information system of a vehicle is also disclosed.

FACILITATING INTERACTION WITH A VEHICLE TOUCHSCREEN USING HAPTIC FEEDBACK
20210382558 · 2021-12-09 ·

Techniques are described for interacting with a vehicle touchscreen. According to one or more embodiments, a system is provided comprising a processor that executes computer executable components stored in at least one memory, including a display control component that selects graphical touch controls to include in a graphical user interface (GUI) for rendering on the touchscreen based on activation of a haptic feedback mode for interfacing with the touchscreen, wherein the graphical touch controls correspond to controls for one or more applications or functions associated with the vehicle. The system further comprising a positioning component that determines a location of a finger on or over the touchscreen relative to the graphical touch controls as displayed on the touchscreen, and a haptic feedback component that causes a vibration unit of the vehicle to provide vibration feedback based on the location corresponding to a graphical touch control of the graphical touch controls.

Display system for mode information display

A display system for a vehicle is provided. The display system includes a display device, and control circuitry that is coupled to a user input device and the display device. The control circuitry controls the display device to display a user interface (UI) having a UI element and changes a first opacity level of a first mode text for an outgoing mode of the vehicle, up to a first value so as to mask the first mode text within the UI element. The control circuitry further controls the display device to change a second opacity level of a second mode text for an incoming mode of the vehicle, up to a second value so as to unmask the second mode text within the UI element.

PARAMETER ADJUSTMENT USING VEHICLE TOUCH SCREEN
20220164095 · 2022-05-26 ·

Methods and systems are provided for adjusting parameters using a vehicle touch screen. In one embodiment, a method includes determining an initial touch position of an external touch operation when the external touch operation is detected. A movement trajectory and final disengagement position of the external touch operation may then be detected. The movement trajectory need not be limited to an area covered by a parameter adjustment control. The parameter adjustment control may then be adjusted to a final parameter value according to the initial touch position, the final disengagement position, and the movement trajectory.

Vehicle and Method of Controlling the Same

An embodiment vehicle includes an audio video navigation (AVN) device configured to execute an application, a display configured to display a screen of the application, an input device configured to receive a command from a user, and a processor configured to receive a backup command through the input device, in response to the backup command, generate snapshot data of the application being executed, extract a keyword based on the screen displayed on the display, generate metadata corresponding to the snapshot data and including a keyword, receive a restoration command that includes the keyword, the restoration command received thorough the input device, based on the received restoration command, select the metadata including the keyword, and restore data of the application based on the snapshot data corresponding to the selected metadata.

Instrument cluster with a contextual view

Systems, methods and computer readable storage media provide a flexible and variability-accommodating instrument cluster for display on an in-vehicle screen and a user experience interaction model for providing dynamic driving-context-relevant information via the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may be shown in a contextual content view, wherein the contextual content view may include a one or more gauges and/or messaging that are determined to be relevant to a determined contextual state of the vehicle. The contextual state of the vehicle may be determined based on signaling data provided by a plurality of data sources, wherein the signaling data may indicate one or a combination of conditions associated with the contextual state. The instrument cluster may be dynamically updated to display the driving-context-relevant information when the contextual state is detected.
