Vehicle integrated computer
An electric vehicle (EV) can include a VIC in operable communication with the EV main computer and the EV infotainment system. The VIC can include a processor, a memory in operable communication with the processor, and a computer-readable medium in operable communication with the processor and having software, such as a hypervisor, stored thereon. The VIC can be configured to have internet connectivity.
System and method for an improved control of data stream management in a vehicle
A system for an improved control of data stream management in a vehicle, said system comprising: a media controller; a processor; a storage element coupled to the processor; encoded instructions; wherein the system is configured to: select at least a first input/output system to receive a packet payload by the media controller; determine an applicable rule set governing a destination input/output system and payload type; determine a current input/output system configuration; determine whether the payload can be provided to each of the destination input/output systems; detect a stimulus indicating that caching of media is to be performed; selectively cache the payload from the destination input/output system for future playback for an operator at the first destination input/output system or at another operator-specific input/output system by the media controller; and wherein the selective caching for future playback on operator-specific input/output system results in improved vehicular data stream management.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING FRONT-ORIENTED VISUAL INFORMATION TO VEHICLE DRIVER
A camera system is installed on the front end of a vehicle, either on the left front, the right front, or both sides. The camera is linked via wired or wireless connection to an onboard computer and a navigation display that is located within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver reviews a visual description on the display of any oncoming traffic in the form of motor vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, animals and the like on the navigation display via a single screen, split screen or alternating screens. The camera system can include a speed sensor that detects when the vehicle reaches a threshold speed to activate or de-activate the camera. Alternatively, the computer can activate the system when a turn signal is activated, and de-activate the system when the turn signal is no longer activated. This camera system can be retrofitted into older vehicles.
MOBILE SENSOR APPARATUS FOR A HEAD-WORN VISUAL OUTPUT DEVICE USABLE IN A VEHICLE, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A DISPLAY SYSTEM
A mobile sensor apparatus includes a capture device for capturing vehicle movements of the vehicle and an interface for transmitting data relating to the vehicle movements to a head-worn visual output device. A display system includes the mobile sensor apparatus and the head-worn visual output device.
