CODE-MULTIPLEXED SENSOR NETWORKS FOR MICROFLUIDIC IMPEDANCE SPECTROSCOPY
20210404937 · 2021-12-30 ·

A microfluidic device for particle analysis, such as immunophenotyping, includes a plurality of microfluidic channels for the passage of a particle-laden fluid flow, a plurality of dedicated impedance sensors for generating impedance signals relative to each microfluidic sensor. The impedance sensors are CODES Coulter sensors, each having a distinct coded sequence for generating mutually orthogonal signals. The system uses a multi-frequency excitation signal for driving the Coulter sensors, such that the Coulter sensors generate multi-frequency impedance signals. The system outputs the multi-frequency signals of the plurality of impedance sensors as a single multi-frequency multiplexed signal, which is subsequently separated into a plurality of single-frequency multiplexed signals, which are then demodulated into single-frequency component signals corresponding to each of the Coulter sensors.

METHOD OF CONTROLLING A BLOOD ANALYZER FOR MEASURING PLATELETS

A method of controlling a blood analyzer for measuring platelets is provided. The method comprises: determining a relationship between at least one first measurement value obtained by detecting platelets in at least one previous test by an electrical type detector of the blood analyzer and at least one second measurement value obtained by detecting the platelets in the at least one previous test by an optical type detector of the blood analyzer, and controlling the blood analyzer to prepare the first and/or second measurement sample for a current test according to the determined relationship.

BATCH PARTICLE SORTING

A system and a method for the batch sorting of particles are provided. An example of a batch sorting system includes a microfluidic ejector, a flow channel fluidically coupled to the microfluidic ejector at one end, and a reservoir coupled to an opposite end of the flow channel from the microfluidic ejector. A counter is disposed in the flow channel upstream of the microfluidic ejector to count particles prior to ejection from the microfluidic ejector. An optical sensor is to image the flow channel. A controller is configured to locate a target particle in the flow channel based, at least in part, on the image and capture the target particle in a collection vessel based, at least in part, on a count from the counter.

In-Situ Probe

A device for monitoring a bioreactor is configured for in-situ analysis, e.g., by NIR, without the need for withdrawing a sample into a sample cell or into an ex-situ arrangement. The device can be inserted into a port of the bioreactor and provides a sample detection region defined by an optical element such as a lens and a photodetector. The electrical signal obtained from a photodetector that is part of the device can be directed to an analyzer via a detachable electrical connection.
