Method and apparatus for interconnectable building block container toys capable of storing items

Methods and apparatus for removably or irremovably interconnectable building block containers such as those capable of initially storing consumable items such as food and drink. After consumption of the food or drink, the cavity containing same may be cleaned and/or refilled with consumable or non-consumable items. The building block containers are utilized as building block toys and may be manufactured or otherwise designed to be collectable. In one aspect, the container connectors are nearly identical such that any one connector may mate with any other connector. In another aspect, the connectors are nearly identical but the orientations of each connector vary to allow mating to occur when the connectors are properly oriented. In another aspect, the container is a cube juice box with connectors on all four corners of all six sides of the container. A frame for holding a juice container may also be utilized.

A multi-compartment container system includes a plurality of compartments. Each compartment includes a cup portion comprising a volume adapted to hold a food or liquid, and a frame portion joined to the cup portion. The frame portion surrounds a top portion or edge of the cup portion, and includes a connector element disposed on a side of the frame and one or more first mating elements. The compartment also includes a lid having one or more second mating elements adapted to engage with the one or more first mating elements of the frame to form a seal, and a chamber adapted to hold a utensil. The connector element of the frame is joined to an adjacent connector element of an adjacent frame of an adjacent compartment. The cup portion includes a first section and a second section, and the cup portion is adapted to move between an expanded state in which no part of the second section is inside the first section and a collapsed state in which at least a portion of the second section is inside the first section.

A dual dispenser has two front faces that are made from a hard plastic material thereby retaining its shape and resisting deformation thereof; here, each container is associated with a single front face as the body of the container is heat treated or adhesively attached to an appropriate edge of a corresponding front face. A dual dispenser as taught herein has a first container and a second container that each have a male member and female orifice associated with an appropriate front face of the first and second containers for a total of two male members and two female orifices. The male member of one front face is inserted within the female orifice of the second front face and vice versa so that the two containers engage one another across the front faces.

A container having a center portion and two side portions each situated at an angle to the center portion and extending in opposite directions such that the a left half of the container is substantially identical to a right half of the container but rotated 180 degrees to form a Z shaped profile of the container. This Z shaped profile allows containers to be stacked upon each other to provide space savings in storage and shipping of the container and the container when filled with liquid.
