SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAILROAD SNAPSHOT AND PLAYBACK
20210094594 · 2021-04-01 · ·

A Railroad Snapshot and Playback System and Method is disclosed that can provide a messaging/communication infrastructure configured to generate and route current train related messages for multi-region train routing plans. The types of railroad data being tracked can be organized into one or more domains. A method for railroad snapshot playback can include receiving a plurality of events related to train movements in the rail system; creating a first snapshot that can include the plurality of the events, wherein a number of events in the first snapshot can be based on a snapshot increment; receiving a playback request for a playback state of the rail system; pulling a snapshot and events received after the snapshot based on the playback request; building a state of the rail system using the pulled snapshot and the pulled events; operating controls of the rail system based on the state of the rail system.

ARRANGEMENT OF PARALLEL MAINTENANCE LINES FOR RAILWAY WAGONS
20200346675 · 2020-11-05 ·

Disclosed is a method for arranging parallel maintenance lines for railway wagons, including: (1) obtaining design information of the parallel maintenance lines; (2) initially designing the parallel maintenance lines; where the maintenance lines comprise a disassembly line and an assembly line parallel to each other, and the disassembly line and the assembly line are connected through a track; (3) establishing a multi-objective mathematical model for solving a parallel maintenance line balancing problem, where the multi-objective mathematical model comprises a first model for minimizing the number of workstations, a second model for minimizing an idle time of the workstations and a third model for minimizing the number of maintenance resources; and (4) obtaining a feasible solution using an intelligent optimization algorithm.

RAIL AUTHORITY SYSTEM AND/OR METHOD

The system 100 can include: a railroad integration system, a motion planner, a vehicle controller, an optional user interface (UI), an optional fleet management system, and an optional track data system. However, the system 100 can additionally or alternatively include any other suitable set of components. The system functions to facilitate vehicle control and/or manage authority within a rail network.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCHEDULING TRACK MAINTENANCE

In one embodiment, a method includes generating a first visual representation of a location of a railroad station in relation to a railroad track, receiving a request for a first maintenance window, and determining that the first maintenance window is associated with the railroad station. The method further includes determining a first time period and generating a second visual representation of information associated with the railroad station during the first time period. The information includes an indication of a time that a train is scheduled to cross the railroad station during the time period. The information also includes an indication of a time duration for a second maintenance window that has been requested during the time period.

COUPLING AND DECOUPLING OF LOCOMOTIVES

A mechanism to determine whether conditions are correct for coupling one train consist to another train consist is disclosed. Controllers on locomotives are configured to determine the forces and/or compression state between locomotives and/or cars of a consist based at least in part on an intra-train force model and measured sensor data. The controllers also determine the relative speed of the consists that are to be joined. Based at least in part on the compressive state of at least one of the consists and the relative speed of the consists, the controller determines whether the conditions are suitable to couple the two consists. In some cases, terrain data, such as upcoming slope of tracks data may also be used in determining whether conditions are suitable for coupling consists. In further cases, the operation of at least one consist may be modified to achieve suitable conditions for coupling the two consists.
