Low moisture solids produced from poultry plant sludge by a decanter centrifuge system
In described embodiments, a method of processing sludge of a poultry plant into solids includes storing sludge in a tank where the sludge is a dissolved air floatation (DAF) float treated with Polymer Chemistry. A polymer is added to the sludge to produce a slurry that is separated into at least one liquid phase and solids in a horizontal decanter centrifuge having a weir ring. In conjunction with operating the centrifuge with a laminar flow, adjusted feed rate and polymer dosing, the system allows for production of low moisture solids (<50%) from the poultry plant DAF float and discharge of a clear liquid phase.
Reduction of substances in contaminated fluids using a naturally occurring biological growth media
A treatment process for municipal, commercial, industrial, and institutional fluids containing one or more substances at a first concentration includes a contactor, an aerator, and a separator. The fluid is mixed with a powdered natural lignocellulosic material (“PNLM”), a microbial growth inoculum, and at least a portion of the fluid in the contactor to provide a mixture that includes an established, acclimated microbial growth in the fluid. The mixture is introduced to an aerator where physical binding and chemical bonding of at least some of the one or more substances to the PNLM additionally physiological uptake by microbial growth in a biosludge reduces the concentration of at least some of the one or more substances in the fluid discharged from the aerator to a second concentration. The biosludge is separated to recover at least a portion of the PNLM that is recycled to the contactor.
Compositions and Methods for the Removal of Phosphates and Other Contaminants from Aqueous Solutions
Compositions and methods for removing phosphates, nitrates and heavy metals from aqueous solutions.
SEPARATOR SYSTEM FOR USE IN AGRICULTURAL PROCESSING
An agricultural processing system includes a process that uses water and produces wastewater having insoluble solids, a pump configured to receive and pressurize the wastewater from the process, and a plurality of centrifugal separators connected in parallel and configured to receive the wastewater from the pump. The separators are each configured to separate out the insoluble solids from the wastewater to produce a cleaned wastewater for reuse in the process.
