The system includes: a highway vehicle, a first set of highway points located along a path of the vehicle, a second set of highway points located along a traffic signal section, at least one RFID tag located at each of the first set and the second set of highway points, and at least one RFID tag reader located on the highway vehicle connected to a network. The at least one RFID tag located at the first set of highway points is configured to store dynamic and static characteristics of the highway vehicle as it passes the first set of highway points and the at least one RFID tag located at the second set of highway points is configured to store dynamic and static characteristics of the vehicle as it passes the second set of highway points.

Warm or hot standby track card module for use on a wayside of a railway system

A coded track circuit of a signaling control equipment to be located at a wayside location of a railway track is provided. The coded track circuit comprises a first track circuit card coupled to rails of the railway track to detect an absence of a train on the railway track, inform signallers and control relevant signals via track codes. The coded track circuit further comprises a second track circuit card coupled to rails of the railway track, the second track circuit card is inactive but ready to provide a warm-standby or a hot-standby such that the second track circuit card to take over control from the first track circuit card should the first track circuit card fails.

VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM

A system detects a parameter and generates a first trip plan to automatically control the vehicle according to a first trip plan. A controller is connected to a sensor and configured to receive the parameter. The controller is configured to generate a new trip plan or modify the first trip plan into a modified trip plan based on at least one of a cumulative damage or an end of life. A new trip plan or the modified trip plan is configured, during operation of the vehicle according to the new trip plan or the modified trip plan, for at least one of an adjustment in velocity or avoiding one or more operating conditions of the vehicle, relative to the first trip plan.

Terminal device and data management method

A terminal device includes a plurality of processing devices, each of which includes: a database; a state managing unit that manages data stored in the database; a request managing unit that determines data to request from an external system and an order in which the data is to be requested from the external system based on a management state of the data in the state managing unit, a management state of data in a state managing unit of another processing device, and a type of predetermined event requiring data in a case where the predetermined event has occurred, the request managing unit being capable of requesting data from the external system on the basis of the order; and an obtainment managing unit that manages a state of obtainment of data from the external system, and a request managing unit of a predetermined processor requests data from the external system.

Method and device for automatically influencing track-bound vehicles

In a normal operating mode, track-bound vehicles report their respective position to a track-side device and the track-side device determines a respective movement authority taking into account the reported positions for the track-bound vehicles and transmits the movement authorities to the respective track-bound vehicle. If a track-bound vehicles is faulty and cannot ensure its integrity, and it is consequently not able to report a valid or reliable position, a switch-over into a fault mode takes place without interrupting the travel operation of the track-bound vehicles. In the fault mode the faulty track-bound vehicle determines a position of one of its vehicle ends and reports the position together with information that it cannot ensure its integrity, to the track-side device. Movement authorities are then determined by the track-side device, taking into account the reported position of the one vehicle end and track vacancy information of a track-side track vacancy system.

RAILWAY ROAD CROSSING WARNING SYSTEM WITH SENSING SYSTEM ELECTRICALLY-DECOUPLED FROM RAILROAD TRACK
20190308649 · 2019-10-10 ·

A railway road crossing warning system (10) including a railway road crossing control unit (18) that may be selectively set to a primary or a secondary mode of operation is provided. In the primary mode of operation, the railway road crossing control unit is responsive to a primary activation signal (21) received from a primary activation-signal source (22), such as a positive train control (PTC) system. In the event the primary activation signal from the primary activation-signal source is not available, railway road crossing control unit (18) is set to the secondary mode of operation, where the railway road crossing control unit is responsive to one or more signals (25) received from a secondary activation-signal source (26) including a railway-vehicle sensing system (28) electrically-decoupled from a railroad track (12). Disclosed embodiments maintain operational robustness in the presence of changing weather and avoid variable electrical ballast conditions that otherwise could develop across the rails, while providing a cost-effective and reliable backup capability for a PTC-started crossing system.

RADIO TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM AND RADIO TRAIN CONTROL METHOD

A radio train control system controls the trains on tracks on which track circuits are built, and includes: ground radio devices performing radio communication with the trains and acquiring position information of the trains; field devices acquiring track circuit state information indicating whether the track circuit is ON or OFF; ground base devices receiving the position information and the track circuit state information and transmitting control information to the trains; and an on-track vehicle control device receiving the position information and the track circuit state information and managing on-track information. The ground radio devices and the field devices have transmission paths connected with the on-track vehicle control device without the ground base devices, and the on-track vehicle control device can transmit the control information to the trains through the transmission paths when the ground base device is out of order.
