FLEXIBLE GRIP AND CAP THEREFOR

The disclosure describes a flexible tubular grip for a golf club, particularly a putter, having the tubular portion formed of relatively soft elastomer with a closure or end cap molded therewith or pre-cured and attached over the end of the tubular portion. The end cap has a raised ridge extending about a portion of the end cap periphery and may have a raised discrete central portion, both of which absorb impact when the club is dropped into a golf bag.

Removable and reattachable golf club grip

Attachment of an interchangeable grip sleeve particularly suited for golf requires three basic securing movements. In the first movement, the grip is situated and secured into place on the shaft by fastening toe components at the lower, distal portion of the grip onto the shaft using an insertion tool. In the second movement, heel components of the grip are positioned onto the shaft, by either rotational torque or downward pressure, optionally using a tightening tool, which results in securing the upper, proximal portion of the grip onto the shaft. In the third movement, once both heel and toe embodiments of the grip have been fastened to the shaft, the internal core diameter of the grip is decreased in order to secure the grip to the shaft, such as by rotating or twisting the entire grip body, wherein an internal mechanism maintains the grip body in the torqued or twisted position, thereby preventing the grip body from rotating back.

Golf club grip with device housing

The invention relates to golf clubs, more particularly to mechanisms for fastening accessories to clubs. The invention provides a golf club configured to house an electronic device such as an RFID tag within a recess within the grip, thereby protecting the device from the stress, shock, and exposure that arises when a golf club is used.

Systems, methods, and articles of manufacture to measure, analyze and share golf swing characteristics

A portable electronic device is disclosed. The portable electronic device comprises memory for storing instructions that are executed by a processor to perform the operations of analyzing data with the portable electronic device related to the position and motion of a putter at least one of before, during and after at least one putting stroke performed with the putter. The portable electronic device analyzes the data by utilizing a plurality of sensors within the portable electronic device including accelerometers configured to measure accelerations and gyroscopes to identify an angle of the putter during the at least one putting stroke. The portable electronic device is attached to the putter. A putting stroke characteristic can be determined based on the data generated from the sensors of the portable electronic device.

Golf club

A golf club comprises: a golf club shaft extending from its first end to second end in its axis direction; a golf club head attached to the second end of the golf club shaft; a grip attach to the first end of the golf club shaft and having a grip end; and a weight member attached to the golf club shaft. The specific gravity of the weight member is 2.5 or more. The length of the weight member is 20 mm or less. The weight member is disposed in a grip-end portion of the golf club shaft so that a mass distribution in the axis direction of the grip-end portion has a local maximum occurring at a position within the grip-end portion, wherein the grip-end portion is defined as extending from the grip end toward the second end by 40 mm in the axis direction.
