A wheelbarrow having a load carrying body supported on a chassis. An electrically powered axle assembly is located at one end of the chassis and has a pair of wheels disposed at opposite sides of the axle assembly. The chassis includes a pair of side plates that extend downwardly to provide legs and a cross member extending between the side plates to maintain them in spaced relationship. A shelf extends between the side plates and is spaced below the underside of the body to provide a cavity to receive a battery. A pair of handles is secured to the side plates, one on each side of the body to transfer loads from the handles in to the chassis and the body is secured to the handles and side plates at a common connection.

The present invention relates to a residential-sized waste disposal roll-out cart that includes a latch that automatically latches a lid in the fully opened position with the lid in close proximity to the side of the bin. When the bin is tilted on to the wheels to be rolled, the lid remains in close proximity to the side of the bin, rather than hanging down towards the ground. In this way, the lid remains out of the space where a user might step. A lid reinforcement structure may be used to increase the strength and wear of the lid where it engages the latch.

A body for a blow-molded waste cart and a waste cart having a blow-molded hollow body having a rear wall, a floor, the body and floor form a waste receptacle and a pair of axle straps integrally formed with the body. The axle straps each include a penetration with a strap bearing surface formed in penetration of the axle strap. The cart body may also include a longitudinal bearing surface with the strap bearing surface being aligned with the longitudinal bearing surface. The strap bearing surface is preferably cylindrical. A waste cart may be formed by adding an axle mounted to the body by the axle straps and wheels mounted to either end of the axle. A method of forming the carte body is also disclosed in which a pair of opposed pins are slid into the axle straps to form the axle strap bearing surfaces.

Movable containers for transporting materials using the motive power of a person are described. The containers include a recess at a bottom end thereof that may extend substantially along a width of the container. An elongated roller is partially located within the recess. The roller may extend substantially along the entirety of the recess and may have a variety of tread patterns. The container may further include more than one roller. More than one roller may be partially located within the recess of the container.

A dump cart includes a frame; a pair of wheels rotatably coupled to the frame by at least one axle; a bed frame pivotally coupled to the frame so that the bed frame may be pivoted relative to the frame between a lowered, hauling position and a raised, dumping position; a bed attached to the bed frame for receiving and hauling objects; a removable tow bar having a first end that may be attached to the frame and a second end that may be attached to a towing vehicle so that the towing vehicle may pull the dump cart; and a wheelbarrow attachment accessory that may replace the removable tow bar to convert the dump cart to a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow attachment accessory includes a draw bar; a mounting bracket attached to a first end of the draw bar that may be removably attached to the frame; a pair of handles attached to a second end of the draw bar that may be gripped by a user to move and maneuver the wheelbarrow; and at least one leg depending from the draw bar for supporting the draw bar and handles above the ground. The dump cart may also include a lift assist mechanism coupled between the frame and the bed frame for biasing the bed frame toward its raised, dumping position so as to assist a user in dumping objects from the wheelbarrow.

A dump cart includes a frame; a pair of wheels rotatably coupled to the frame by at least one axle; a bed frame pivotally coupled to the frame so that the bed frame may be pivoted relative to the frame between a lowered, hauling position and a raised, dumping position; a bed attached to the bed frame for receiving and hauling objects; a removable tow bar having a first end that may be attached to the frame and a second end that may be attached to a towing vehicle so that the towing vehicle may pull the dump cart; and a wheelbarrow attachment accessory that may replace the removable tow bar to convert the dump cart to a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow attachment accessory includes a draw bar; a mounting bracket attached to a first end of the draw bar that may be removably attached to the frame; a pair of handles attached to a second end of the draw bar that may be gripped by a user to move and maneuver the wheelbarrow; and at least one leg depending from the draw bar for supporting the draw bar and handles above the ground.
