Enhanced techniques for air curtain control

Tools, strategies, and techniques are provided for enhancing the control and operation of air curtain devices. The air curtain device can be provided with a computer system programmed to receive input data from various sensors and to communicate the sensor data to a wireless mesh computer architecture. An algorithm module can be programmed to determine adjusted settings or parameters for the air curtain device in response to the sensor data and/or other data sources such as external data sources. Data may be obtained from multiple air curtain devices configured for cooperative performance, and operating parameters or settings may be adjusted in connection with one or more of the multiple air curtain devices. A control device of the air curtain may be provided with a unitary structure suitable for efficient installation of multiple control harness connectors thereon to supply power and/or to establish data connectivity with multiple components of the control device.

Ventilation air conditioning system and outdoor air supply fan

A ventilation and air conditioning system includes: an outdoor air supply fan; an exhaust fan; and a system controller to control operations of the outdoor air supply fan and the exhaust fan. The system controller includes: a link controller; an exhaust air volume receiver; a disconnection determinator; and a disconnected state supply air controller. The link controller controls the outdoor air supply fan and the exhaust fan in a linked manner. The exhaust air volume receiver receives, from the exhaust fan, an exhaust air volume signal indicating an exhaust air volume of the exhaust fan. The disconnection determinator determines a disconnected state where the exhaust air volume receiver fails to receive the exhaust air volume signal. The disconnected state supply air controller controls the outdoor air supply fan at a predetermined air volume when the disconnected determinator determines the disconnected state.

An active airflow inhibiting apparatus for an entranceway comprises a structure, an airflow sensor, and a controller. The structure comprises one or more air mover devices configured to be positioned adjacent an entranceway of a building and defining a passage therethrough for accessing the entranceway. The airflow sensor is configured to provide an output indicative of speed and direction of airflow through the entranceway or at the air mover devices. The controller is connected to the air mover devices and the airflow sensor. The controller is configured to receive the output of the airflow sensor and to control an output of the air mover devices based on the received output so as to generate a differential pressure across the air mover devices which inhibits airflow through the entranceway.
