Pallet Loading Height Limiter
20210009180 · 2021-01-14 · ·

The Pallet Loading Height Limiter is a very simple, and yet effective, non-powered, adjustable device for helping warehouse workers keep a shipping pallet load within safe and proper limits for height (and, consequentially, also weight). The device rolls on locking casters for easy use and storage. The device's frame has reinforcing brackets that minimize damage from passing forklifts, etc. The device's design makes it easy to repair if it is ever damaged. Because there is no globally-accepted standard for pallet sizes, this device may be made in various sizes (usually determined by country of origin of the pallet). That said, the North American pallet size (40 by 48) is the standard used for this application. This device works equally well with stringer- or block-type pallets. Using this device should help minimize material-handling injuries to workers that handle loaded pallets.

GEAR DRIVE AND DRIVE WHEEL CONFIGURATION FOR ZERO TORQUE STEER
20200398882 · 2020-12-24 · ·

Apparatuses and systems that yield a zero torque steer for a pallet truck or similar vehicle are disclosed. In an embodiment, a motor is attached to a final drive. The final drive is equipped to a steer assembly such as a tiller that includes a drive wheel that is offset from the steering axis. The offset is determined on the basis of the drive wheel radius, divided by the ratio of the final drive. The ratio of the final drive is determined by selection of the sizes of a first and second gear. In embodiments, the first and second gears provide a right angle drive. The drive wheel creates a torque due to the offset that counteracts torque imposed by operation of the drive motor. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Pneumatic Cylinder Actuated Pallet Jack Assembly
20200398881 · 2020-12-24 ·

A pneumatic cylinder actuated pallet jack assembly for mechanically lifting and lower a pallet includes a pallet jack, a plurality of pneumatic cylinders, and a compressor. The forks of the pallet jack are slidably coupled to a frame of the pallet jack. Each of a pair of rear rollers that is coupled to a respective fork distal from the frame and a roller module that is slidably coupled to the frame are selectively vertically positionable. A tow bar is pivotally coupled to the frame proximate to the roller module. Pneumatic cylinders are operationally coupled singly to each of the forks, the pair of rear rollers, and to the roller module, and the compressor. The compressor is positioned to selectively actuate respective pneumatic cylinders to size a gap between the forks and to raise the forks and the frame to lift a load that is positioned on the pallet.

ELECTRIC PALLET TRUCK

The present disclosure is related to an electric pallet truck. The electric pallet truck includes a frame, a lifting unit, and a walking unit. The lifting unit is configured to adjust a height of the frame. The walking unit is configured to drive the frame to move. The lifting unit includes a lifting mechanism fixedly connected to the frame and a hydraulic mechanism configured to control a lifting of the lifting mechanism. The walking unit includes a driving mechanism configured at a bottom of the lifting mechanism.

Pallet truck wheel assembly toe guard
10850759 · 2020-12-01 · ·

A pallet truck wheel assembly for use on a pallet truck comprises an axle extending in a horizontal plane that includes a central portion configured to couple with a steering column of a pallet truck and shoulders at each terminal end of the axle. A pair of rear steer wheels having center bores receiving and rotatable about the axle are mounted on the axle in a spaced-apart configuration so that a central portion of the axle spaces the wheels apart between inboard portions of the steer wheels and the shoulders are exposed on each outboard portion of the steer wheels. A toe guard coupled only to the shoulders of the axle includes a protective element that extends around the back of the wheels and below the axle so that an operator's toes are prevented from sliding under the rear steer wheels of the pallet truck.
