Apparatuses, components and methods are provided herein useful to provide assistance to customers and/or workers in a shopping facility. In some embodiments, a shopping facility personal assistance system comprises: a plurality of motorized transport units located in and configured to move through a shopping facility space; a plurality of user interface units, each corresponding to a respective motorized transport unit during use of the respective motorized transport unit; and a central computer system having a network interface such that the central computer system wirelessly communicates with one or both of the plurality of motorized transport units and the plurality of user interface units, wherein the central computer system is configured to control movement of the plurality of motorized transport units through the shopping facility space based at least on inputs from the plurality of user interface units.

TROLLEY FOR CARRYING ITEMS

Disclosed is a trolley for carrying articles, including a base for carrying articles with wheels; a trolley frame fixedly connected to the base and extending upwards, the trolley frame forming a baffle at the front side of the base, the trolley frame including an upper portion, a middle portion and a lower portion, wherein the lower portion is connected to the front end of the base, the middle portion is provided with a foldable storage unit, and the upper portion is provided with a handle; and the base and the trolley frame form a carrying space, the foldable storage unit is provided with a retracted location and an unfolded location at which a storage space formed by the foldable storage unit occupies a part of the carrying space. A user may decide to unfold or retract the storage unit as necessary to properly place the articles being carried.

TROLLEY BASEPLATE AND TROLLEY USING THE SAME

Disclosed is a trolley baseplate including a plate body having a head end and a tail end, a first locking mechanism on the plate body adjacent to the head end and a second locking mechanism on the plate body adjacent to the tail end. The second locking mechanism is placed corresponding to the first locking mechanism and the structures of the two locking mechanism are fitting. When front and back trolleys are concatenated, the tail end of the front trolley and the head end of the back trolley can be locked to each other by means of the first locking mechanism and the second locking mechanism. The trolleys with the above structures can be concatenated more conveniently, and are not liable to overturn upon sudden braking or turning, which can effectively shorten the time for the staff to fasten two trolleys together.

Various systems for monitoring wheeled vehicles (such as shopping carts) are disclosed. The system can include an RF antenna unit that is buried and is configured for bi-directional communication with the electronics on the cart. In some embodiments, the antenna comprises a plurality of transmitters, which can emit synchronized signals. In some embodiments, the antenna comprises a radiating cable, which can emit a signal along some, substantially all, or all of its length.

Movable device and method of charging the same

An apparatus and method for charging movable devices like carts or trolleys. Each movable device includes a charging unit and a charging connector coupled to the charging unit, including a male plug at one end, a female socket at the other end, and two electrodes interconnected. When the devices are in a queue, the male plug of the connector of a device in the rear is connected to the female socket of the same in the front so that a plurality of movable devices are connected to each other in tandem and charged simultaneously. The method includes connecting the plurality of devices in tandem with the respective connectors so that the devices can be charged simultaneously. A plurality of movable devices can be charged simultaneously and the charging process can be simplified, thereby improving the utilization and safety of the movable devices and reducing the cost of maintenance.

Shopping cart

A shopping cart includes a frame, a plurality of wheels for supporting the frame for movement over a floor, an arm connected to the frame, and a projection positioned proximate at least one of the wheels. The frame has a front end and a rear end. The arm is configured to engage the tow member for moving the frame. The projection engages the guide member to prevent one of the front end and the rear end from rotating over the other of the front end and the rear end. A handle assembly may include an elongated slot positioned proximate a handle. The shopping cart may also include a tray is releasably secured to the frame by inserting a tab into a slot. The shopping cart may also include a tab received within a slot to secure a basket against movement relative to the frame.

Frame structure and trolley using frame structure

A frame structure includes a frame body and an auxiliary frame fixedly connected to the frame body. The frame body has a front bracket and a frame base. The lower end of the front bracket does not connect with the frame base. The upper end portion of the auxiliary frame is connected to the front bracket of the frame body, and the lower end of the auxiliary frame is connected to the frame base at the rear of front wheels of the frame. A trolley with the frame structure can prevent it from leaning forward or overturning, which increases security and stability.

The manner in which the wheels are attached and arranged, and the orientation of the base frame, provide for increased storage and ease of access to the base frame and bottom shelf from the rear of the cart, and easy nesting (also referred to as stacking) of multiple carts in telescoping fashion when the carts are not in use.
