Each apparatus may include: a frame having a frame base, at least one wheel, and a handle; at least one brake and a brake rod, wherein the brake rod is attached to the frame, and wherein the at least one brake actionable upon the wheel when the brake rod is actuated; a carriage pivotably attached to the frame; and a foldable backrest pivotably attached to a base of the carriage, wherein, in a nested position, the foldable backrest of the first apparatus is folded down and the carriage of the second apparatus is positioned partially within the carriage of the first apparatus such that the carriage of the second apparatus is disposed partially over the foldable backrest of the first apparatus; and the brake rod of the first apparatus is released by the handle of the second apparatus.

A car seat holder is used to support a portable infant car seat by providing a flexible support. The apparatus comprises a first support, a second support, and a canvas. The first support and the second support are elongated members that extend across a shopping cart. The first support and the second support are rigid members that distribute the weight of an infant carriage device. The canvas is a flexible surface that extends from the first support to the second support across the shopping cart. The canvas provides a mechanism for transmitting the weight of the infant carriage device to the first support and the second support. In this way, the first support and second support hold the canvas in optimal position for holding an infant car seat. This arrangement frees up space within a shopping cart.

In some embodiments, the chassis defines on each lateral side of the cart a pair of vertically spaced handles, each handle surrounding and defining an opening. The handles preferably include handle bars shaped in an oval. On each cart side a curved elongate member extends between and connects the handles, and the curved elongate members represent the rearmost part of the cart. The rear area of the upper basket defines a seat for an infant, and a rear ledge of the lower basket defines a seat for a toddler.

The invention relates to a nestable shopping trolley comprising a foldable child-seat assembly having: a backrest movably mounted on the rear wall of the basket; and a cover arrangement which is pivotally provided on the rear wall, which rests on a seat arrangement and which, when pivoted upwards, closes leg-holes in the rear wall. When the child-seat assembly is not in use, the rear wall, the seat arrangement and the cover arrangement lie tightly against one another with the seat arrangement hanging downwards and the cover arrangement pointing upwards. The cover arrangement has two projecting parts pointing outwards in opposite directions and the backrest has a central section and two sliding sections laterally bordering the central section, the projecting parts sliding along the sliding sections of the backrest and said sliding sections forming respective spaces that are occupied by the projecting parts when the child-seat assembly is not in use.
