The handles preferably include handle bars shaped in an oval. On each cart side a curved elongate member extends between and connects the handles, and the curved elongate members represent the rearmost part of the cart. The rear area of the upper basket defines a seat for an infant, and a rear ledge of the lower basket defines a seat for a toddler.

A bracket assembly includes a bracket for attachment to a shopping cart and a cover connected to the bracket and covering at least part of the bracket. The bracket includes a metal plate having first and second faces, where the length is greater than the width, and the width is greater than the thickness. The bracket has a projection extending outward from the first face and a recess extending inward from the second face and corresponding to the projection. The cover has two walls and a cavity defined between the walls, and the bracket is received within the cavity such that the first and second faces each confront one of the walls. The cover further has a slot in at least one wall, such that the cover is press-fit on the bracket and the projection is received in the slot to retain the cover in connection with the bracket.

An assembly of a first and second child transport apparatus is disclosed. Each apparatus may include: a frame having a frame base, at least one wheel, and a handle; at least one brake and a brake rod, wherein the brake rod is attached to the frame, and wherein the at least one brake actionable upon the wheel when the brake rod is actuated; a carriage pivotably attached to the frame; and a foldable backrest pivotably attached to a base of the carriage, wherein, in a nested position, the foldable backrest of the first apparatus is folded down and the carriage of the second apparatus is positioned partially within the carriage of the first apparatus such that the carriage of the second apparatus is disposed partially over the foldable backrest of the first apparatus; and the brake rod of the first apparatus is released by the handle of the second apparatus.

The holder serves as a mechanical interface between an infant carrier, which can be received in the holder, and the shopping cart. The holder can be concavely shaped to assist in shopping cart nesting in addition to supporting a received infant carrier at a desired angle. The holder can be adjustably mounted to a gate or a basket of the shopping cart and may/may not interfere with nesting operations. The holder permits an infant carrier to be supported on a shopping cart without using a significant amount of shopping cart space or interfering with nesting operations.

An accessory tray is connected to, or extends integrally from, a shopping cart handle and extends a limited distance forward from the handle. The tray extends forward above, but not significantly interfering with, the child-seat area of the cart. Preferably, the forward extremity is not directly connected or attached to the cart, but rather the tray is cantilevered from its rear end/edge fixed to/at the handle and extends otherwise unconnected forward from the handle. A forward tray portion may rest on, or be close to, an upper portion/end of the cart rear wall. The preferred tray is substantially planar, featuring a single, flat platform with an upending rim, wherein no part extends above said top level of the handle. The tray remains in place for nesting of multiple carts, and is received in a space between nested portions of the cart to which it is connected.
