Three-wheel cargo cart with adjustable handle height
10919554 · 2021-02-16 ·

A hand propelled three wheeled cart for transporting miscellaneous cargo. The basic cart has a single front wheel with two solid rear supports, such as a standard wheelbarrow. The two rear wheels are attached to a lever that is pivotally connected to the lever mounting support brackets. Lifting the handles pries the two rear wheels, into position, elevating the rear cart support legs off the ground. This cam action reduces the operators lifting effort and improves the lateral stability of the cart. Releasing the handles automatically anchors the cart.

TRANSPORT DEVICE AND METHOD

The invention relates to a transport device (100), more particularly a pram (102), having at least three wheels (116, 118, 120) for moving on a surface (180, 182) and having a handle (110) for a user, wherein at least one wheel of the at least three wheels is designed as a drive wheel (122, 124, 126), which can be driven under electromotive power by means of an associated electrical drive unit (140, 142, 144), in order to permit an at least partial electromotive support to the manual pushing or pulling operation of the transport device by the user on the surface, wherein the transport device is provided with at least one acceleration sensor (172, 174) and a predefined braking torque (F.sub.mot) can be applied periodically to the transport device in pushing or pulling operation by means of the electrical drive unit and wherein a control device (170) assigned to the at least one acceleration sensor is designed to analyse the acceleration values (ax) from the at least one acceleration sensor to detect a presence or absence of the user at the transport device (100) and to regulate the electric drive unit in dependency thereon.

Navigation systems for wheeled carts

Examples of systems and methods for locating movable objects such as carts (e.g., shopping carts) are disclosed. Such systems and methods can use dead reckoning techniques to estimate the current position of the movable object. Various techniques for improving accuracy of position estimates are disclosed, including compensation for various error sources involving the use of magnetometer and accelerometer, and using vibration analysis to derive wheel rotation rates. Various techniques utilize characteristics of the operating environment in conjunction with or in lieu of dead reckoning techniques, including characteristic of environment such as ground texture, availability of signals from radio frequency (RF) transmitters including precision fix sources. Navigation techniques can include navigation history and backtracking, motion direction detection for dual swivel casters, use of gyroscopes, determining cart weight, multi-level navigation, multi-level magnetic measurements, use of lighting signatures, use of multiple navigation systems, or hard/soft iron compensation for different cart configurations.

Reducing bearing forces in an electrical machine

A magnetic drive has a prime mover, having a first magnet array on a first surface thereof, and a rotor, having a second magnet array on an outer surface thereof. The outer surface of the rotor is located adjacent to the first surface of the prime mover such that movement of the prime mover causes rotation of the rotor about an axis of rotation. A support member has a shaft for defining the axis of rotation of the rotor, and having a third magnet array, and the third magnet array cooperates with a fourth magnet array on the rotor to form a magnetic bearing to resist forces on the rotor acting along the axis of rotation thereof.

MOTORIZED TRANSPALLET

Examples provides one or more rolling pallet trays capable of interlocking together to form a modular rolling platform. A rolling pallet tray includes a rectangular base member with a top surface, a bottom surface, and a set of four sides. The top surface may have a lip extending upward along at least a portion of the circumference of the top surface. A set of rollers are pivotally mounted to the bottom surface. A floor-lock brake may be activated to stop movement of at least one roller to lock the rolling pallet tray in place. A set of linking mechanisms is attached to one or more of the sides for linking the individual rolling pallet tray to one or more other rolling pallet trays in a variety of different configurations. The linked rolling pallet trays in the modular rolling pallet tray pivot together as a single unit for greater stability.
