The flexible coupling defines an opening that extends along a central longitudinal axis between a first coupling end and a second coupling end. The first adapter is arranged to be at least partially received within the opening proximate the first coupling end. The first adapter extends between a first adapter first face and a first adapter second face. The first adapter defines a first adapter post and a first adapter hole. The first adapter post that extends from the first adapter first face. The first adapter hole that extends from the first adapter first face towards the first adapter second face.
Apparatus for use in turning steerable vehicle wheels
An apparatus for use in turning steerable vehicle wheels includes a steering column having a pinion connected with a vehicle steering wheel such that rotation of the steering wheel results in rotation of the pinion. An electrically powered steering unit includes an electric motor having a first output shaft rotatable about an axis. A first planetary gear stage has a first gear reduction ratio and is driven by the first output shaft. A second planetary gear stage is driven by the first planetary gear stage and the pinion and has a second gear reduction ratio different from the first gear reduction ratio. A second output shaft is driven by the second planetary gear stage and coupled to the steerable wheels such that rotation of the second output shaft affects steering of the vehicle wheels.

Reduction of play of a worm gear of an electromechanical power steering system by means of a bimetal spring
A worm gear for an electromechanical power steering system of a motor vehicle, includes a worm shaft that meshes with a worm wheel. The worm wheel and the worm shaft are arranged together in a gear housing. An eccentric lever and a bimetallic spring that is operatively connected to the eccentric lever are configured to compensate for a temperature-related play in the engagement between the worm wheel and the worm shaft.
MOTOR CONTROL DEVICE, MOTOR CONTROL METHOD, MOTOR MODULE, AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE
A motor control device includes a model following controller to generate a correction torque based on an output from a control target that is a motor, and correct an input to the control target with the correction torque. A model following controller includes a high-pass filter with a first cutoff frequency and a low-pass filter with a second cutoff frequency larger than the first cutoff frequency, and is configured or programmed so that a transfer function of a control target is constrained to a nominal model in a frequency band in which a gain in a gain characteristic of Q(s).Math.HPF(s) is 1 where Q(s) is a transfer function of the low-pass filter and HPF(s) is a transfer function of the high-pass filter.
MOTOR-DRIVEN POWER STEERING SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Provided is a motor-driven power steering system including: a motor driver; and a controller, wherein the controller is configured to: receive a first rotation angle obtained by a steering wheel angle sensor according to steering and a second rotation angle obtained by a motor position sensor, when a steered position of the steering wheel is in an auxiliary steering limit section and a difference value between the first rotation angle and the second rotation angle is different from a predetermined reference value, change a rotation position of the steering wheel angle sensor and a rotation position of the motor position sensor to an initial original position, when changed to the initial original position, receive the first rotation angle and the second rotation angle again, and control the motor driver to perform auxiliary steering based on the first rotation angle and the second rotation angle received again.
STEERING CONTROL DEVICE
A steering control device includes a base axial force calculator, a limiting axial force calculator, and a final axial force calculator. The limiting axial force calculator includes a steering angle holder, a reference angle calculator, a final difference calculator, and an axial force calculator. The steering angle holder is configured to hold a steering angle at the time of limiting a turning operation of the turning wheels when the turning operation is limited. The reference angle calculator is configured to calculate a reference angle. The final difference calculator is configured to calculate a final difference which is a final difference between the reference angle and the current steering angle. The axial force calculator is configured to calculate a limiting axial force based on a value of the final difference.
Gearbox assembly for a vehicle
A gearbox assembly includes a housing, an output shaft, a wheel gear, an input shaft, a torsion bar, an electric motor, a worm gear and a key lock. The wheel gear may be fixed to the output shaft for engagement with a wheel gear. The torsion bar may connect the input shaft to the output shaft. The worm gear may be rotationally fixed to the rotor and engages the wheel gear to transfer torque from the motor to the output shaft. The key lock may include an adapter, an annular outer part, a web, and a locking collar. The key lock may be fixed to the housing and is movable between an extended position in which a part of the key lock engages the locking collar and a retracted position in which the part is held clear of the locking collar.
Hardware implemented motor control and platform for EPS
A motor electric control unit (ECU) for an electromechanical power steering mechanism, which controls current through an electric assist motor in response to sensed vehicle signals, wherein the ECU comprises an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, that implements safety and platform features in hardware.
STEERING ASSISTANCE DEVICE FOR SADDLE TYPE VEHICLE
When an external detection device detects an obstacle (another vehicle (T)) on either a left or right side of the own vehicle (M), a control device of a steering assistance device for a saddle type vehicle controls an assist torque so that a handle operation to the side opposite to the side on which the obstacle is detected becomes heavier (more difficult to turn) than a case in which the obstacle is not detected. The handle operation to the side on which the obstacle is detected makes a handle relatively light (makes it easier to turn) while steering assist is maintained.
