Systems and methods for steering a vehicle that adjust how quickly a selected steering input is achieved based on a speed at which the vehicle is traveling are disclosed. The systems and methods include receiving a steering input, detecting a vehicle speed, and selecting a steering ramp rate that defines how quickly a steering amount corresponding to the steering input is achieved by one or more steerable components of the vehicle. In some implementations, the steering ramp rate may be affected as a result of whether the steering input is greater than or less than a previous steering input.

The present application provides a full hydraulic synchronous steering system for a low-speed heavy-load vehicle, where the system includes: a steering control mechanism and a steering actuator; by determining a desired steering curve between a steering wheel angle and a rear wheel angle, when a steering error exceeds an allowable error, a controller controls the opening and closing of an oil replenishment solenoid valve (5) and an oil discharge solenoid valve (4) to adjust an flow rate of the oil flowing into a steering cylinder (7), so as to ensure that the steering error is within an allowable error range, thereby implementing synchronous steering. A method for manipulating the full hydraulic synchronous steering system is further provided. The full hydraulic synchronous steering system and the method can improve synchronous steering capability of the low-speed heavy-load vehicle and change a steering ratio, thereby improving safety and direction feeling of a driver.

In a hydraulic system, such as for a tractor or other agricultural vehicle, a main supply pump supplies fluid to a steering system through a steering circuit and a second pump supplies fluid to a cooling fan motor. The second pump is connected with the steering circuit to provide a second a source of fluid to the steering system when the main supply pump is unable to meet demand. A prioritization valve regulates the flow of fluid from the second pump to the motor. The second pump acts as a secondary pump for the steering system and drives a cooling fan.

A steering pressure valve controls flow from pump to steering valve inlets, and provides a steering valve load sense pressure. A priority valve controls flow from pump to low priority inlets. A load sense cutoff valve has a first inlet receiving the steering valve load sense pressure. The load sense cutoff valve controls flow through the priority valve based on steering valve load sense pressure at the first cutoff valve inlet. The cutoff valve can include a second inlet coupled to tank, and a load sense input coupled to the steering valve load sense pressure. The cutoff valve can be a pressure limiter valve. The priority and steering pressure valves can be 2-way proportional flow spool valves with bias springs, and contributing and opposing load sense inputs.
