The disclosure relates to a steering system useful for providing stable control during rear axle steering of harvesters, such as self-propelled windrowers. The steering system utilizes a single steering cylinder and retracted caster cylinders to regulate rotation of the casters during rear axle road operation mode. The steering system locks the steering cylinder and uses the caster cylinders for damping during in-field operation mode.

Apparatus and method for attenuating vibration transmission

An apparatus for attenuating vibration transmission between first and second structures includes a rod extending entirely through, and being mechanically connected to, both of the first and second structures. The rod defines a central longitudinal axis. A piezoelectric sensor senses vibrations in at least one of the first and second structures and responsively generates a voltage. The piezoelectric sensor is disposed entirely longitudinally between the first and second structures. A piezoelectric actuator actively attenuates the vibrations sensed by the piezoelectric sensor. The piezoelectric actuator is at least partially driven responsive to voltage generated by the piezoelectric sensor. The piezoelectric actuator is disposed entirely longitudinally between the first and second structures. At least one of the piezoelectric sensor and the piezoelectric actuator has a throughhole through which the rod entirely extends.

Damping stopper

A damping stopper is interposed between two members axially displaced relative to each other and is provided with an elastic body which, when the interval between the two members decreases, is axially compressed by the two members and expands radially outward. In the elastic body, a second member suppressing the expansion is located in one axial region and attached to the outer periphery. When axially compressed by the two members, the elastic body expands while receiving resistance by the second member. The expanding elastic body contacts the side wall of one of the two members.

Power steering assembly mounts with tapered protrusions

Example power steering assembly mounts with tapered protrusions apparatus disclosed herein include a power steering assembly. The power steering assembly includes a housing. The housing includes a flexible mount and a rigid mount to attach the power steering assembly to a subframe. The rigid mount includes a tapered protrusion to deform the subframe to reduce movement of the rigid mount relative to the subframe.
