A power control unit mounting structure mounted on a vehicle includes an engine in an engine room at a front of the vehicle, an intake manifold disposed above the engine, a power control unit that is disposed above the engine, coupled to a cable, and controls power of a drive motor, and a toeboard cross member disposed on a toeboard. The engine and the toeboard cross member partly overlap in a projected plane along a fore-and-aft direction to provide a space behind the control unit in a front view of the vehicle. The intake manifold and the control unit are disposed within a contour of the engine in a plan view of the vehicle. The intake manifold is disposed ahead of the control unit, and portions of intake pipes of the intake manifold on both sides extend rearward and are partly opposed to both side surfaces of the control unit.

A front portion of a vehicle body includes front side frames, a subframe, and a vehicle compartment front structure body. The subframe has a subframe body, a front fastening portion fastened to the front side frame in a front region of the subframe body, and a rear fastening portion fastened and fixed to the vehicle compartment front structure body in a rear region of the subframe body. The rear fastening portion has a first convex portion protruding toward a vehicle rear side. A part of a steering gear box constitutes a second convex portion protruding upward from the subframe body. The front fastening portion has a third convex portion protruding upward from the front region of the subframe body. The vehicle compartment front structure body has a first inclined guide portion, a second inclined guide portion, and a third inclined guide portion having front surfaces to contact the convex portions.

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a new coolant tank that may also provide a structural element to the frame of the engine compartment. The coolant tank is comprised of a rear wall that also makes up a portion of the firewall in the engine compartment. A structural coolant tank component is engaged with the rear wall to form the coolant reservoir. The coolant reservoir can provide support to attach structural elements of the vehicle, and can also allow for improved space efficiency in the engine compartment. Further, improved access to the filling port is provided, while continued operation and desired function is maintained even at extreme vehicle tilt.

The stabilizer frontward of the assist motor is disposed offset from the assist motor in an up-down direction so as not to overlap the assist motor in vehicle front view.

The battery mounting part support structure of the vehicle includes a front support leg 34 and a rear support leg 31, 32 that support a battery B and a coupling member 33 that couples the front support leg 34 and the rear support leg 32, and the front support leg 34 and the rear support leg 31, 32 are supported by an upper surface and a side surface 112 of a front side frame 11 on a front side and a rear side of the coupling member 33.

In one exemplary embodiment, a method of repairing a chassis rail for a vehicle includes that a marking is identified on the chassis rail. The marking indicating where to cut the chassis rail. The method also includes that the chassis rail is cut proximate the marking to form a cut chassis rail portion. The method further includes a replacement rail assembly is slid onto the cut chassis rail portion. The replacement rail assembly including a replacement rail, an inner brace portion secured within the replacement rail, and a bracket wrapped at least partially around the replacement rail and secured to the replacement rail. The bracket including one or more fastener through-passages. The method further includes the replacement rail assembly is secured to the cut chassis rail portion.

The bracket comprises a fender fixing portion fixed to a flange portion of an upper end portion of the fender, a body portion extending downwardly from the fender fixing portion and positioned on the outward side of the apron reinforcement, and an apron-reinforcement fixing portion extending from an inward side, in the vehicle width direction, of the body portion toward the apron reinforcement and fixed to the apron reinforcement. The body portion is provided with a curved part which is configured to be curved outwardly in the vehicle width direction.

A vehicle body structure includes an engine cradle and an impact receiving structure. A forward end of the first side portion and a first lateral end of a front portion of the engine cradle are fixedly attached to one another. The first side portion has a rearward section and a forward section, the rearward section being horizontally oriented and the forward section extending upward and forward from the rearward section defining an acute angle therebetween, the acute angle being between 30 and 35 degrees. The impact receiving structure is installed to the first side portion of the engine cradle proximate an intersection between the first side portion and the front member. A lower surface of the impact receiving structure extends downward along the forward section of the first side portion further defining the acute angle of the forward section of the first side portion of the engine cradle.
